Lang Chai Lang Co Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Thừa Thiên Huế Province

I note others have had good experiences here, so maybe I went on a bad day. Comparing this restaurant (which clearly caters for tourists - of which I’m one) to similar businesses in Vietnam, the service was poor, the restaurant itself is run down, and the food was very average.

Worst of all the cutlery and bowls were dirty and I suspect, from the brownish gunk on it (pretty sure it was makeup), my straw had been recycled from someone else’s drink.

On the positive side, the opaque glass doors in the bathroom cubicles are worth seeing. 🤦‍♂️

It’s probably unfair to mention what a guests young child was doing from the balcony into water when we arrived. With hindsight, that was an omen...so I can only blame myself for this “experience”.

The location is lovely though so I wouldn’t say don’t go, but please check any positive expectations...

Amazing seafood restaurant! I tried different one in the area and this was by far my favourite and the one I keep coming back. Went with some friends with a baby and they do have baby chair as well as kids area to play. The staff was super nice and recommended us some dishes bearing in mind our preferences. They do accept big groups so it might happen that you see some karaoke in the restaurant. The place is big and has different areas so I am sure you can find a spot where...

We live in Thailand, so we are a bit spoiled when it comes to seafood restaurants. This one was pretty mediocre. The fried rice was good, and the oysters were fresh. We had grouper and lobster too, which was OK, but nothing special. I'm sure there are better seafood restaurants on this lagoon, unfortunately we didn't have time...
