I had always seen this place along the road but only made a decision to visit it over the long holiday.

I called ahead since most restaurants were closed that particular day, and the person I spoke to was kind and helpful enough to let me know what I needed to know.

Upon getting there, it was almost empty and I could count how many people were there but it surprised me when my order took over 40mins to be made. I got a Malawi shandy to start(which was fine) and then proceeded to order a spaghetti bolognese(I did not enjoy it, it was a safe bet and I quite wish I went for something else. It tasted so plain, I had to add salt and pepper to make it a little better. It tasted like something someone at home would make on a random day with no flavor and barely ready spaghetti). I ordered a salad to accompany the meal and later on a brownie with ice cream and a macchiato(these two saved the day, they were the two things I enjoyed here).

The place itself is so soothing, the music was not so loud, it was kept neat and I genuinely liked how it looked. Their furniture was comfortable, their environment was just something I enjoyed, it looked like a good place to have a family meal or a solo meal.

The service was okay. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. Just okay.

The key thing I'd like to emphasize is that they should change their menu. They are using old menus with old prices, so it threw me off at the end of the day when my bill was quite higher and the specific prices were different from my orders. (Also, if you're going to add a service charge to the bill, at least make sure that the service being given to customers is top notch. I love leaving a good tip, I just hate to feel like I'm giving it to someone who may not have been as...

First off, the place looked nice and the atmosphere was calm and quiet. When we first arrived the restaurant was empty except for one other table. TLDR Food was poorly cooked, didn't finish anything. Server didn't care. Both of us got sick from the food.

-Our server had a general attitude that they did not care about us at all. -We were given one drink menu and one food menu to share between two people. -When we ordered drinks, the coke was mini sized but full priced and the water was room temperature when she specifically asked if we wanted it chilled and we said yes. -The drinks took a long time. -I ordered a frozen lemonade and it looked beautiful but was incredibly sour and I could not finish it. -No vegetarian options -we ordered our food and the food took over 1hr to come out -I ordered the "Hake in crispy batter". The fish wasn't fully cooked, the batter was raw on the inside, the fish still had skin and bones inside the coating, the chips were raw in the middle, the tartar sauce was not good. I did not even finish half of this food. -our other order was a burger. The burger was dry, crumbly, and had no flavour. The chips were also not cooked through. This food was also not finished. -our server never came back to check on us after bringing the food. -after deciding that the food was inedible we had to go to the front of the restaurant to find anyone to pay. -we told the staff that the food was subpar and we didn't finish it, we expressed all of our concerns and got only a lacklustre apology. Conclusion: left this place disappointed, hungry, and feeling sick from the undercooked fish. Do...

It was our visit here and probably last. It's kind of nice environment but we came for dinner. We had beef fajitas and salami pizza. The fajitas wasn't not fajitas but something what's supposed to be fajitas. There was only 3 stripes of meat, but what was the worst it was swimming in some kind of tomato sauce, pieces of carrots, zuchinni. Fajitas is simple beef, onion, and peepers but they totally killed it. Pizza dough was also not good it was like sponge. The cook should learn how to cook simple foods and if not they shouldn't call it fajitas. Pizza toppings - also weird combinations. 25.2.2021- I came back to see your reply and I must laugh and say that you are really funny and liar. The plates were not spot less in fact we left 3 slices of pizza but I admit some might like your pizza. So called fajitas with 3 stripes of beef full of tomato sauce and carrots and zuchinni we did not finish. You have no clue about tex mex, I lived in Houston many years. Please go on google and search for fajitas recepie, is there any carrots, zuchinni etc..? Sometimes less is more.! Also I did not want to mention it but then you added 10% automatic tip to my bill and then arguing for 5 minutes that's its some kind of law here. Then u deducted. Tip is given when someone is happy with food, service etc. Not that u just add automatically. To all who wants to eat well and enjoy go to Prime Cut at East Park or Three Trees and you will see...

I recently visited the Orange Tree Cafe in Lusaka and it was a delightful experience! Nestled in a beautiful location, the cafe offers a serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a casual outing or a business meeting. The decor is charming and adds to the overall pleasant ambiance. The menu is diverse, featuring a range of delicious meals and beverages. I tried the cappuccino and samosas both of which were outstanding. The coffee was rich and aromatic. The staff at Orange Tree Cafe are incredibly friendly and attentive. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, and their service is prompt and efficient. It's clear that they take pride in ensuring a great customer experience. One of the highlights is their outdoor seating area, which is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The free Wi-Fi is an added bonus, making it a great place to work or study. Overall, the Orange Tree Cafe is a gem in Lusaka. Whether you're looking for a quiet place to relax, a spot to enjoy a tasty meal, or just a good cup of coffee, this cafe is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

All my life, living in Lusaka, and this is the first time I’ve been to The Orange Tree?! Not right at all. My experience was so lovely. Their menu is very easy to maneuver. Unfortunately I didn’t get pictures of it but for the meal we had- Pork Ribs = K255, Crispy Buttered Hake = K225, Hot Chocolate = K60, Gin and Tonic Cocktail = K130. All came with chips and a saucy garden salad (some food has the option of mash or rice too). The food was really good, next time I’ll just request that they leave the skin off my potato chips. Otherwise very filling! The environment was so peaceful. Such a calm place. So calm that we stayed over an hour after our meal was done. It’s got both indoor and outdoor seating. And the service was really great too. Very kind staff. Hundred percent would recommend!!
