The Villagers — Restaurant in Lusaka Province

A long overdue visit to one of the few great places in the city. I appreciate the fact that it's a little long drive to this place. It made it even more worthwhile.

Thank you to Louis for the great service. He was a bit overwhelmed with the work, but he handled it like a pro and was so helpful in ensuring that we had a good lunch. His service was great, though he would disappear to tend to endless tables (wonder where his friends were). He was honest enough to share how his workload was but still make us feel important.

The food was so delicious! I ordered chicken cordon bleu (w/ mashed potato, roasted, and mushroom sauce). It all just made sense together, and it was flavorful. Definitely did not expect that. I had a taste from both my date's plates (beer battered hake for one and chicken curry for the other), and their food was just as good! The drinks were good, the margarita felt a little sweet but everything else was just right!

The place is cute, no extraordinary ambiance, but it definitely is comfortable, and somewhere you'd want to be with friends, family, or alone. I didn't hear a sound of loud music even when it got dark, just conversations and clinks here and there 😏

For those prices, that food and service, I will go back any...

Updating my review! Returned to the Resturant and had some chicken strips and chips. Resturant was busy, but we still got a table. I have never had such delicious chicken strips before, so much flavour. And their chunky chips were devine. My food was supposed to come with sweet chilli sauce as stated on the menu, but it came with tomato sauce. One star lost for that. But! Food didn't take too long, and staff super good at what they do. Was a totally different experience. I'll be back again.

Previous review - Fire ants dropping off the trees onto me, wasn't that great. Very painful bites. But the food was good. However, everyone got their food before me. I had to sit and wait maybe a good 10 minutes watching others eat, before getting my meal. Everyone ordered drinks including myself, everyone got their drinks and mine was missing. Maybe it was just my unlucky day. Food was good though. Would definitely go back and try the other dishes that passed our table ~ Villagers Burger...

I used to come here in 2022 and enjoyed the food. However, I decided to go today since I was in the area and was disappointed with the service. I walked up to the waitress and told her I’d like a table for one, she showed me a table outside. I waited and no one attended to me or brought me the menu. As I was about to get up, the waitress brought me the menu after 20 minutes. I told her to give me 2 minutes to go through the menu and she disappeared and never came back. I waited for another 15-20 minutes before I got up and left. I saw her attend to another woman who came in after me. And some waitresses were serving others and just chatting. I’ve heard 2 people of colour complain about the staff before, and how they got ignored and I experienced that today. They attended to everyone else, white and black, but I was the only Indian.
