Buffalo Ridge Spur Zimbabwe — Restaurant in Harare

I had the impression that Silver Spur was notorious for making people’s birthdays memorable wherever you go, so I decided to have my birthday lunch at this one.

I am not here to talk about the food. The food was what I have always known it to be. The place looked clean, well-ventilated and it was a quiet afternoon- I loved that. As I am a person who considers restaurant visits to be more than just food, but an experience.

I ordered a sirloin plate with mushroom sauce and a brownie slice at the beginning of my order. Unfortunately, circumstances changed on my end and I asked to have the brownie slice canceled as quickly as I could, but I was forced to pay for it because “they had already punched it”. I know you bake this things in big trays, cut them into pieces and possibly freeze them.

Given that I was having a good day and it was my birthday, I chose not to argue. I paid and left without the brownie. Unfortunately I did not tip.

No wonder the stuff in this place looks drained even on a quiet day. It’s the capitalism and lack of humanity running this place. I could tell they were trying, but they looked drained upon arrival. They were so adrift, they even missed me when I walked through the door.

I doubt there’s an ounce of humanity left in this place. All this for what? $4??

Well, that would be my first and last time visiting this place. Typical nose-diving...

Very disappointed, we were first ushered to a dirty table, which we refused, ordered a cocktail, which was asked for again and mistaken for a mocktail, it was a cold evening the heater close to our table was off, reason being it had run out of gas, we asked for the manager on duty, came and mentioned the gas issue, but it was then switched on a few minutes later, Different waiters would come to ask for our orders, food came late, the ribs were not that fresh, drenched in the famous spur sauces, I had a side of butternut and creamed spinach, was horrible, butternut was so cold, the spinach was tasteless. I had ordered a schnitzel for my baby grand daughter, which came with some mushroom sauce, it was just so bland and flourly, bad actually. There were no condiments at our table, when they did come they were smudy, not polished at all.Cleanliness was below standard, bathrooms unacceptably dirty and smelly, with water drops all over the floors, I was really looking forward to this night, got very disappointed instead, not worthy of our bill which was around 152 USD, could have dinned...

Went to spur in my birthday for breakfast spur higoqnd park on the 29th of December 2024.despite having received terrible service on 8 august when we took our mum there with the waiter pretending to be sick to justify the poor customer service i went back. We were first sitted on a dirty table idk us being black maybe made us be treated like crap we asked for the table to be cleaned it was then the waitress disappeared we set there a good 15 mins then decided to physically ask for someone to assist us.she took our order and left abruptly without us even finishing she was gone we sat the for an additional 20 mins asked the other waiter to assist and call her she didnt come.
