I rate the Parlee Beach a 5 star review. I rate the beaches management a 1 star. Average equals 3 stars at no fault to the beach. We were told that there is a dog park area but all we saw were "no dogs" signage. Wife saw in the website that there are dogs allowed to the right of the Boardwalk. Looking out, past the "no dogs" signage, we saw other people with dogs. We joined the group. While making our way to the beach, a worker was changing the sign to read that the water was unsafe. Come noon, we go down to where food is served and there is actually a sign stating that dogs are allowed. Signage on their food vending area lets us know it is not open until 3pm.😢 Parking was confusing. Two lanes in but only one lane is for paying customers while the other is for ticket holders, we presumed. Signage would help. Once on the beach, we enjoyed seeing how populated it was and how far out people could go before the water seemed to get deep. Loved the beach but not the way it is being run. More sunny days ahead we hope. Addendum: Have since been to this park without our dogs in tow. Wife and I went to meet family visiting from Ontario. They have 3 young children who loved the parks many features. The 2 young boys loved searching the beach and finding many hermit crabs and snails. Young girl loved the playground area most. Eventually we all joined together on the beach. Was extremely winding this day and both my wife and I appreciated having worn our sunglasses to help keep the sand out of our eyes. Re-rating this place based on our latest experience. The addition of sand carpeting allowing access via any type of wheeled vehicle. We could see this being enhanced upon to allow wheel chair access for any person along the beach area.

This is my favourite beach in Canada. I am slightly biased as I have spent many summers here throughout my life. The water is the warmest water north of The Carolina’s. It’s because the water is part of the Northumberland Straight and it is shallow with lots of sandbars. Because of this, it’s a great beach for young kids. The water is usually calm unless there is an impending storm. There are pockets of water for them to play in and perfect sand for building castles and no rocks. The beach is cleaned every morning also. Some summers you can even do yoga on the beach. There are two beach houses with showers and a large restaurant and a small beach shop for towels and beach accessories. There are volley ball courts and a playground. This is a Provincial Park. There are nearby bike and walking trails that you can walk all the way to Shediac or you can walk along the beach to the Point du Chêne wharf.

In October, 2016 after a rain event, the bacterial count at West Brule, which was shown to be Human fecal DNA was 1700 bacterial count per 100 mls. This was reported by the Lab to be as high as they could count. The No Swimming count is 35 per 100mls (Canadian Guidelines). In October the boats were gone, most tourists and summer residents gone. What would the count be in the most busy time of summer? Recent news stories have shown that the public has not been properly informed of this contamination. Many reports from different parts of Brule and Parlee tell of serious infections and illnesses and this can not continue. It was known in early 2015 that the counts were climbing to health risk level.

It is always a pleasure to come here as I only live minutes away. The beach is clean, and the restrooms are impeccable. I wish they would be open the entire year and not just the main season. Not a suitable place to go if you have dogs as their presence on the beach is not allowed. In the off-season it is possible to take your dogs to the beach. Unfortunately, many dog owners don't pick up after their dogs. It is understandable that some visitors will complain after stepping in dog feces. If everybody were responsible and cleaned up after their dogs the experience of visiting the park in winter would be better for everyone! A beautiful place to visit all year.

I've been to plenty of provincial parks but never, until now, have I been to one that operates more like a private park. If you're looking for privacy you won't find it here. Large Trailers & Campers park side by side. Tent camping is a bit better but everything is pretty much open space with a few trees here and there. Want a hot shower 🚿 it'll cost you a dollar for 5 minutes. That's what the sign says but 2 coins later it was still cold. The staff however are great, even got my 2 dollars back. The park and facilities were clean with plenty of garbage cans placed throughout the park. As for the beach, you have to drive to it, or expect a long walk.
