I am updating my review from the spring..... Just played the front 9 today.... What a disappointment. The course is not nearly as nice or playable as it was in the spring. The only good features are: 1) no charge, and 2) no-one else ahead of you. The two of us played 9 holes in an hour.... Yes, we didn't do serious putting; i.e. picked up our ball after we got close. Consider it a wonderful "practice" course for driving and irons. My rating: out of 5: Tee-boxes: 2; need to be cut Fairways: 3; these have seen regular cutting... Rough: 0 Greens: 0 It is so disappointing after the effort the gardeners put in last winter....... If you aren't on the fairway after your drive, your ball is basically lost because the rough has not been cut in months it seems..... so stay on the fairway or bring lots of balls. Not sure what the back 9 look like - but not likely worth considering....
My earlier review (from last spring): "I live in Jolly Harbour and the course has undergone dramatic improvements since the new owners (CDAL) took over last September. I have played it about 12 times and for me, it is ideal! The fairways and tee boxes are good and some greens are better than others. I've made 4 birdies - and a lot of double boggies... but...it suits me perfectly. Some holes are extremely challenging. Monthly green fees are

The back 9 is deemed not ready ? Well neither is the front 9 !!! This is not a golf course.. full stop ! Any true golfer will play once and then put the following review on . āManagementā stop all ground works , maintenance, the feeble excuse for any works to this car crash of a public park because it aināt a golf course. First hole - the tee grass is so long you couldnāt even make out the tee markers āblack white or redā buried in 4ā of uncut grass. The fairway was cut ⦠about a week or so ago. 1st greenā¦. Jesus wept this is maybe the best green on the course, it was not a golf green said that but a carrot field. My wifeās fire and excitement at getting a game of golf after 4 months on the island was immediately extinguished as every hole baring the sixth was even worse. The sixth hole ! We couldnāt find! You come off the fifth and you enter the eighth tee. We set off to find the seventh green hoping to work our way back to the sixth hole ⦠no signs, no tee box , nothing . To make our score card up ( no score cards by the way ! That old chestnut- The printers have let them down) Well, we played the ninth hole twice . Playing the ninth hole is torture! The fairway or grass field is that long you canāt find your tee shot /ball . So ! Welcome to the next housing project by the new owners who by the way call this a Championship standard golf courseā¦NOT . Cedar valley never...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe played here Jan 2023 because it was close to our resort. Unfortunately, the course isnāt in the best of shape and 100% needs to be worked on (we did the front 9 holes). The putting greens were just awful lol.
That being said, the staff was incredibly friendly and we still had a good time just out in the sun enjoying the views. If youāre a serious golfer, I wouldnāt bother but if youāre just out for a good time and arenāt picky, you might as well support local!
I didnāt get any good pictures unfortunately but this was at one of the tee-offs. Views are...
