Nansen Park — Attraction in Yerevan

Fridtjof Nansen, the famous Norwegian explorer, kingmaker, scientist and saviour of countless displaced persons in despair after world war one have been awarded with a little museum in the park who is also named after him.

After the turks genocided the armenian nation during world war one another tragedy struck eastern Europe - the communist revolution and the following holodomor and continentwide starvation, one man stood out from the crowd and put actions behind his words. That man was Fridtjof Nansen. His tireless work among the refugees and starving in Ukraine, south Russia and Armenia have earned him a legendary status almost equal the one in his homeland.

So this musem is a homage to a man who did so much for a foreign people without asking...

Очень красивое место. Именно здесь отдыхает не только тело, но и душа. Расположен в 1-ом массиве, сразу за спиной (крупом?) памятника полководцу Гаю. Начинается сквером, где очень приятно посидеть на солнышке или в тени на удобных скамейках, которых здесь множество (и все новенькие, чистые). Много мамочек с колясками. Летом здесь работает кафе с огороженной детской площадкой и декоративным бассейном и водопадиком. Дальше расположен даже не парк, некая скульптурная группа с храмом в центре. Что интересно, тут и пожилые люди на лавочках о чем-то беседуют, и малыши бегают, и мамочки опять же с колясками гуляют. Храм действующий, когда я там была, как раз в нем крестили малыша. Музей был закрыт. Но там и без музея приятно погулять, полюбоваться скульптурами. Прямо на улице находится подсвечник (традиционный, с песком, залитый сверху водой). Свечку покупаешь тут же, на территории, ставишь за здравие...

Good place to walk in the morning but somehow when i went in the night lights were turned off maybe it was late maybe other something else. Anyways I think at that time (22:00) park lights or maybe some of them...
