Generally, you can commute faster by road, as this trail follows the twists and turns of the river. West of the CBD, the north side is continuous to the coast, while the south side has a few diversions into streets. Various singletrack trails run parallel to the sealed path for those seeking some adventure. Beware/ enjoy jump features built up by local kids in places. East of the CBD, pay attention to signage, as branching paths may take you away from the Torrens. There's almost no singletrack in the East, but the undulating elevation of the path becomes its own challenge. On this side (north side) there is for the most part two tracks near each other - one is bitumen and the other gravel. The runners and cyclists used the first and some of the walkers used the latter. Dogs on lead allowed and I was pleased to see that the owners of dogs adhered to this policy. Lots of frogs and water birds around. There is also some undercover seating, though not sure I saw any bins around so it's a matter of taking all rubbish...
