A lot of hard work had gone on this area. It’s got everything for the whole family to enjoy. Pathways to walk around. . Play areas for the children . An area to get married outside . Free BBQ’s , lots of seated areas, toilets that were clean , tourists information centre. On Sundays there are market stalls . Cafe and plenty of parking . It accommodates everyone, disabled , pushchairs. Very nicely set out and still working on it . I recommend this area . Go and take a look yourselves.

This is hands down an absolute credit to the Ayr township and Burdekin shire council. Been twice while on holiday already for a play then dinner. Very well kept grounds with no rubbish lying around, water play area and very safe wooden playthings complete with solar led lights that come on at nighttime. Clean BBQs and lots of seating. Clean toilets. Few walks to go on including one right down the back of the park.

Beautiful spot to stop. Plenty of shade. The running creek has fish (tilapia) aplenty. Decent modern but well used toilets. Lots of picnic tables and a nice playground for the kids. Also a Burdekin Shire information booth with volunteer staff. You can drive up the back for a very quiet spot. Camping is illegal here and the plethora of signs will ensure you know that very well!!

There is a great cafe there, called Plantation Park Cafe which is a little oasis. The food was delicious - I had a quiche (thin crispy pasty) with salad and friends had steak sandwiches and they were really tasty. I think they also do the best coffees in Ayr - as far as I could find. And you sit out on the wooden deck - which has a lovely leafy view.

Owned by Traditional Owners, the Gudjuda people, it's located just behind the big snake which is their totem. The kids are allowed to clamber onto the snake and there is enough room for them to play on the deck as well. There is also a small museum/ cultural centre of Aboriginal artifacts, paintings - where you can learn about the culture.

Very laid back place - it was the perfect...

Decent little park. Stopped in on the way back home from our holiday. The little one had fun running around. Only reason I give it four stars is the grass was long, midges & mozzies were bad (don't know if it was just around the time of year we went though) & the hammock they have there is terribly uncomfortable to sit or lay on. The park does have a wonderful water system the little one had heaps of fun playing with & trying out. The playground is pretty good too, plenty of shade and places to sit & things for the kids to do. All in all, would definitely return to this park again & wish I had got to visit when...
