Bega Pioneers' Museum — Attraction in Bega

A delightful museum of social history. Although it focuses on local history, much of what it covers - whether the tragedies of WW1 or 19th Century farm life - will resonate with visitors from across Australia and indeed from Europe too. One of the highlights of the museum was an enormous collection of formal portrait photographs from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. A must visit. The whole town has a feeling of Australia of yesteryear. Just beautiful! So much information to take in. A very impressive collection of war and military memorabilia and machinery. I loved the homewares section. A very nostalgic and romantic look back at country Australia.

Amazing little treasure. Definitely something every local, and tourist should visit. Very friendly knowledgeable gentleman greets you before the extensive collection takes you on a journey back in time.
