Overall experience. 🙌🏻 Wisdom feel. You need to park your vehicle near the board saying Cameron Boyd Reserve. On map the parking is named as “The Boneyard car park, Cliff Drive, Kiama Downs NSW”. At times people are around and don’t know where to head for the visit of BOMBO HEADLAND.

So, simplest way is, park your vehicle at the boneyard car park and walk toward Cameron Boyd Reserve. After hardly 500 meters walk you find a board saying Headland to your left. And now, you can follow the directions on the way, for all the way to Bombo headland.

On the way, you will find a board saying 100 meters to Boneyards, don’t miss out The boneyard! It’s amazingly awesome. Walk down to that place, it’s seriously worth it.

Walk back to the point you diverted to boneyard and continue your walk towards Bombo headland.

The view from the top is super super super charismatic and you have a lot to see all around. The rocks, sea, splashes, mountains, wide sky, horizon, much more.

Don’t give this place another thought. It’s a must go place. I visited the place almost at sunset. So couldn’t make it most out of my visit. But still I loved the sunset shade of sky while I was there. Plan your trip accordingly. As, this whole walk and covering both the points and enjoying the view at both the places could take around 2-3 hours at least. Carry a hat, if it’s a sunny day. I would prefer to take comfortable sports shoes to walk those ups and downs.

Deserving...

Bombo Quarry, located near Kiama in New South Wales, is a fascinating geological site that offers visitors an extraordinary look at nature’s raw beauty. Once a working quarry, it is now famous for its towering basalt columns, created millions of years ago by volcanic activity. These unique rock formations rise dramatically from the ocean, creating a rugged and striking landscape that feels almost otherworldly.

One of the main attractions of Bombo Quarry is its role as a natural classroom for geology enthusiasts, where you can witness the powerful effects of ancient volcanic forces. The site’s hexagonal basalt columns are a rare phenomenon, offering an impressive example of how lava solidifies into striking geometric shapes.

The surrounding coastal scenery adds to the dramatic appeal, with crashing waves against the cliff faces, and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Photographers flock to Bombo Quarry for its striking visual contrasts, especially during sunrise or sunset when the lighting enhances the textures and colors of the rock formations.

Whether you’re a geology buff, a photographer, or simply a nature lover, Bombo Quarry provides an unforgettable experience. Its unique landscape is both a testament to the power of nature and a beautiful reminder of the ancient forces that have shaped the...

Bombo Headland Geological Site is a memorable short walk that visitors to Kiama and vicinity must not miss. You can drive up to the parking right at the entrance of the site or leave your car further down at the Bombo Beach parking, swim and surf, then walk up the steps that lead to the entrance. Make sure to go as far as the main rock attraction that some call the Cathedral. Go further if you have enough energy. There are visual rewards at each and every turn. The sight of the sea, especially on a stormy day, is overwhelmingly beautiful.
