Last night I was given the opportunity to visit one of the most historic and haunted jails that is still long-standing in Australia today.I have always had an interest in paranormal activity but I have never really seen a ghost in person. Some of the stories I got to hear about last night were very confronting and made me want to find out more. Things such as executions, bashings in the courtyard and other people’s paranormal experiences were discussed throughout the tour. The most paranormal interaction I was faced with last night was defiantly when I went searching in the cells. I got this really uneasy feeling as if I wasn’t alone in there. I’ve heard multiple other stories that are similar to mine. If I had to choose out of all the places that we got to tour last night, I would defiantly say that the back track was the most creepiest and most eerie. All together, the ghost tour was really fun and enjoyable. I would defiantly recommend to people if you enjoy creepy ghost stories and stories...

I have been in this jail for two years now, and I must say it’s the best jail I’ve ever been to. The staff are courteous and professional, the food is nutritious and tasty, and the facilities are clean and modern. The cells are spacious and comfortable, with a TV, a fridge, and a private bathroom. The inmates are friendly and respectful, and there is a lot of camaraderie and support among us. The jail offers a variety of programs and activities to keep us busy and productive, such as education, vocational training, sports, arts, and therapy. The jail also has a library, a gym, a chapel, and a garden. The security is tight but fair, and the rules are clear and reasonable. I feel safe and cared for in this jail, and I have learned a lot from my experience here. I would highly recommend this jail to anyone who is looking for a place to serve their time with dignity and respect. It’s like a home...

I had the privilege of attending a historical guided tour at the Boggo Road Gaol on a rainy day in January. I cannot praise the tour guide Caitlin enough. She was impressive. She shared her considerable knowledge with ease, grace and joy. Undoubtedly, the jail does need some renovations (which I believe are coming in a couple of months) but its condition did help to transport the visitors back to darker but fascinating times in the story of the jail. Caitlin, engaged with all the visitors expertly to ensure they felt their voice was heard and their questions valued. I can't wait to attend other tours at the jail and across Brisbane. Thank you Caitlin for sharing insightful and entertaining stories from the past and inspiring us with your passion for the history of the region. I can’t recommend this tour and the ‘Historic Australia’ organisation...

Firstly, Heather, our tour guide were great at handling COVID19. She was ready to check-in everyone as we arrive. Check-in was really smooth and easy. It a great place to visit and learn about the history behind the gaol. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The stories from our guide and graffiti on the walls bring us into the stories. We took our kids there to let them know how old the facilities were during the old days. Room for improvement: It will be better to include more areas like their kitchen, workshops, laundry, gaol guillotine and hanging area. This will take you to 5 stars ratings.

The history tour was educational, informative and interesting. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional. Love the stories about the famous escapologist and the black cat. Recommended to anyone for this 90 minutes tour, tourists or local residents, to learn a slice of Brisbane jail history. You should also go to St Helena Island if you are particularly interested in jails.

Booked and went on the ghost tour last night it was an amazing journey back in time. Great history, story telling and the atmosphere of the gaol really adds to it. Only been once before during the day for a school history excursion and both times I've had some kind of experience. If your a local or a tourist you'll really enjoy this gaol. Highly recommended A+++
