Sigh 💔 . . . please read this review before your next visit if you want to dine at Red and Green comfortably. My boyfriend and I went there and they had the audacity to charge us 50 cents for a freaking cup of ice. One cup each, mind you! I mean, are they kidding? And let me tell you, these cups were like tiny af. I swear they barely held any ice. Like, what's the point? It's not like they were doing us any favors. And get this, the ice cubes were barely half-filled! DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE SIZE OF THE CUPS BECAUSE PRECISELY-COUNTED *there were 4 to 5 ice cubes* in each of our 10 CENTIMETRE MINI PLASTIC CUPS!!! Talk about a total rip-off :/ We used to go there all the time, thinking ice was free AS WE WERE ALWAYS SERVED WITH ICE WATER ANYWAYS (FREE FREE FREE), but nope, they decided to pull this money–leeching–bargaining trickery on us again. Ps... the male server gave us a whole jug of water with a third of the top layer filled with 20 ice cubes at the least. I'm seriously questioning their korean sanity and customer service skills. RED 🔴 and Green 🟢, you better check yourselves because this kind of scam won't fly with us. Save your pennies and skip this place, peeps. Trust me, you won't miss out on anything but a lousy cup of overpriced ice. As a waitress myself, I'm known for asking if they ever need any korean side dish refills with the white crunchy salad alongside strips of kimchi too, serving water with ice whenever they wanted etc and making sure our standards at my Korean Restaurant are upheld to the highest level. Disappointing because despite that I earn minimum wage hourly, she would have the effort to click 3 extra buttons but not open her lying lips to tell us she was going to charge us. Absolutely disappointing.

If you have ever been to this restaurant, or you would like to go, check your bill! This lady charged us penalty without telling me for left over some burnt meat. I have attached a photo, see how much we left, only bones and very small amount of burnt meat. Lucky I found out soon and went back asked her about the charge, then I took a photo of my table. She did give me a refund, but this still not right, how much money she has charged customers without telling them. This is a fraudulent. There wasn’t much food to eat anyway, not even some popular Korean side dishes, me and my son only took one plate of meat to cook. When we arrived, there wasn’t much food left, some plates were already empty, and were never refilled for us. The charcoal cooked plate was never replaced for us, and it was burnt, and the meat was so easy to get burnt. My suggestion to the owner is that if you want to save your business, do it the right way, even you don’t have many customer, still provide good quality food and customer service, because your customers will keep coming back. Don’t treat your customer like a one off deal. Me and my son have been to a Korean BBQ place in Auckland at least 20 times, there must be a reason why they are doing so well.

We luv a KBBQ. The beef was tender and soft except for some of the larger steak portions. They had some really yummy bulgogi beef slices (pictured) which were a favouuurite. Teriyaki chicken was well-marinated, gingery and flavoursome, probably one of the best meats ! Did not have any of the pork so could not comment. Prawns are pre-cooked and already pink at the buffet bar. The baby octopi were good, dip them in some kimchi sauce for flavour :) Mussels did not seem fresh, pass. Odd disparity between the great quality of the meats and the meh seafood tbh. If you think that they never give you enough side dishes (banchan) at a regular Korean a la carte, this is your opportunity !! Fruits are seasonal, we had orange and watermelon slices as well as carrot cake. Fantastic service. Booked thru a reservation for 5 people and the staff were really thoughtful to withhold the charcoal until the latecomers arrived. There is a time limit on the buffet, so it was nice to not have to worry about wasted time as we waited. There is a $10 surcharge on wasted food, so take what you can eat.

EDIT: Read further below to see my reply to the business’s response.

Absolutely terrible customer service on 2 occasions. First time I booked for a table of 6 a few days in advance. Showed up on time only to find out they didn't reserve a table. After waiting 15mins they put us 6 people on two different tables. I was the only one who have had Korean BBQ so it was difficult. 5 mins after sitting, the people who were on the 6 seaters left. I asked the staff if they could put us on that table (we hadn't even started eating), they said no because they don't want to clean up. When I was paying for the bill, I used an Entertainment Voucher. It was all fine until we left and were down the stairs, the staff came running and yelling and demanded I fill out a survey because I used a voucher. I was horrified because they were acting like we just left without paying.

After a long time I decided to give them another chance. This time there was 5 of us and they put us on that 6 seater. However they refused to let us use the second grill, saying that's only for 6 people or I'd have to pay $20 extra to use that grill. It was insane as it was impossible for the end person to reach the one grill we were allowed to use. The restaurant was empty. Overall, there are many better Korean BBQ place in Brisbane City with much better variety of food and better customer service. These people do not know how to run a restaurant.

MY REPLY The only false information is that “customer satisfaction is your top priority”. My review stands true and feel free to make me take “legal responsibility”. My 9 friends from my two visits are all witnesses. Every point I’ve made are facts.

Yes those visits were from a year ago pre-COVID. At no point did I mention they were recent visits. Obviously twice was enough to see what your restaurant offers. I will reiterate my experience to respond to your “suspicion”

First case, yes it was your restaurant. I do not know nor care who were the owners. I dined at Restaurant Red & Green and received such treatment. I especially requested to move to the bigger table (that I booked) after seeing those people left and the staff blatantly said no. I would not feel as strongly had I not make a booking in advance. I was also chased from the stairs to go back and fill out a survey.

Second case, it is good to hear you have changed that absurd policy. We were definitely told that we needed to pay extra to use the grill that we should’ve been allowed to use. We did not want an “extra” grill, it should’ve been provided in the first place. It is difficult for customer to reach the grill from the other end of the table and you obviously...

MY REPLY: I'm more than happy to take legal actions...this photo was of your restaurant. Stop cowardly hiding behind weak lies. What would you expect if someone had to wait 1 hour for some slices of oranges to come out...I'm sure you would get pretty angry too. You did not warn us of any time limit and if the time limit was 1.5 hours, then are you asking us to leave without eating any food? Afterall, it took 2 hours for you to bring out some slices of meat. If you think for a minute, that anyone would believe your reply to me, you're wrong. Your star reviews are dropping and instead of getting angry about some google reviews, maybe change the way you operate, so you don't get anymore of these.

The photo pretty much sums it up itself. The worst of the experience was definitely the customer service. There is a clear, distinct difference when a restaurant runs for the passion of serving good food to the people, or when they're just doing it for the money. This restaurant is very money orientated. We had 14 people for the buffet kbbq. They charged us with 15 people! After we clarified that, they admitted they were wrong (VERY suspicious) then they overcharged us with drinks, when we only ordered 2 coke jugs.

I've seen most of the reviews on this page, and most of the times this restaurant tries to deny it with most definite 'lies.' Don't be fooled by their flashy pictures, I HIGHLY recommend going to a kbbq at Sunny Bank, or give the Vietnamese Restaurant 'Ben's a try. Overall, absolutely DISGUSTED by the revolting service and food. NEVER...
