Overview
Eat Street Northshore is a vibrant, large-scale food + entertainment precinct located on a repurposed wharf in Brisbane’s Hamilton/ Northshore area. The venue features dozens of food vendors, bars, live music, and an interesting layout made from shipping containers.

👍 What I loved • The atmosphere is electric: fairy/neon lights, shipping container stalls, live performers and a river-front setting make for a memorable night out. • Incredible variety of food: from Asian street-food, Latin dishes, seafood, desserts, vegan options – you’ll find something for everyone. • Accessibility is strong: It’s only ~15 minutes from Brisbane CBD, there’s free parking (1,400 spaces) on MacArthur Ave, and a ferry stop nearby. • Fun for groups/families: With live music, multiple bars, sweet treats, and a casual vibe, it suits a night out with friends or family.
⸻
👎 Things to consider / improve • Entry fee: There is a charge (around $6 per person) to enter, and kids under 13 can go free. • It can get very busy — queues for popular vendors, and seating can be limited or competitive as the evening progresses. • Some reviews say that while the vibe is great, a few food stalls don’t always match their price or hype. • Accessibility around some outer deck areas may be a little rough (rumoured to be original wharf structure).
⸻
🎯 My personal highlights • I’d recommend arriving early (around 4-5 pm) to avoid the largest crowds and secure a good spot to sit and eat. • For dessert-lovers: the sweet-treat alley (Kombi Alley / dessert stalls) was a standout. • If you love live music or a more upbeat night: later in the evening the volume and energy ramp up significantly. • Great for mixed groups: you can go for casual drinks, stroll, sample many small dishes, and soak in the ambiance rather than just a typical dinner.

The scenery, variety and atmosphere make it more than just a place to eat — it’s a night-out destination. Just be aware of the entry cost and plan for crowds or pick your time carefully.

Read moreIt’s great to have a variety of different cuisine from many different cultures, live on stage entertainment during my visit. I suggest, best to make a phone call first and find out what is on and if it’s fee or free entry at the gate to ensure a “no dissatisfaction” experience. Only 4 stars from for the time being since I have only been there twice and was nothing like as per advertised on the specific on those two days in a row. Good ratings of 4 I believe are still reasonable because, the place is quite neat and tidy, toilet facilities are well maintained, accessible for everyone 👍 wheelchair ♿️ food was great and affordable prices, lively atmosphere, great view alongside the Brisbane river, lots of parking 🅿️ on site (fees applies) but not sure if it’s only on specific occasion. Plenty of dining tables to choose from to relax while enjoying a good meal while music is playing. There are many stalls on site and game stations are also there for children and many other activities to keep them occupied. This facility are made and built with sea containers but don’t worry, it’s spacey, you’re only entering on a sea containers surroundings. This place by the way is only open on specific times and days so as I mentioned above,⬆️ call first to ensure a happy experience. 👍
