Narana has the 'feel' of the Northern Territory with it's beautifully designed shaped building with natural wood. Here you can view original Aboriginal Art dot paintings and historical photos.
There are Australian native animals you can walk amongst and feed, a lovely place for children to see Emus, Wallabies and other native animals.
A wonderful choice of Aboriginal gifts, teas, soft animal toys and art in the gift shop and welcoming nourishing tucker of damper with Myrtle herbs and native dips to taste the offerings of Mother Earth.
A few weeks ago I attended a wedding there and the food and musical acoustics was wonderful inside with the high ceilings.
A place all people should stop and visit on their way to the 'Great Ocean Road' drive or going to Torquay. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They also offer digiridoo lessons and meditation poetry journies facilitated by a highly talented and humble indiginous teacher, Michael Cussens.

Read moreAbsolutely love it here! Staff are always kind and happy to help. Entry is free and a cup of animal food only $3. Beautiful baby emus, mumma on eggs, kangaroos and wallabies. Also scored some ducklings at my last visit. Mozzie spray essential which is supplied free of charge at the rear entrance to the cafe. Great playground suited for wide age range. Art gallery and museum are also worth a look with amazing local art on display. Cafe has delicious food, drinks and snacks (recommend the museum toilets). Very reasonable prices. Gift shop has lots of lovely things, kids spend their pocket money on the very cute Australian animal soft toys. Extra parking via boundary road. If the car park is full it may be a function room being used, not necessarily that the cafe and animal...
Read moreNarana do a good job, I won’t deny that, but if you want a tour of the place, don’t bother unless you can organise a group of ten or more. My friend and I booked a tour for ourselves and booked it nearly a year in advance because the popularity was such that they were literally booked out months in advance. Narana, your new management is a disgrace and it’s a damn shame because the work you do there is so important. It’s a pity you’ll now be so selective about who you...
