Copacabana Beach — Attraction in Copacabana

Beautiful beach. Unlike what previous reviews says, it is definitely NOT dog friendly. There are signs everywhere stating dogs not permitted on the beach. We drove all the way from Sydney to enjoy the day out with our puppy only to be disappointed. We still saw some 20+ dogs on the beach and decided to join in despite the signs. All went well except for one not so lovely guy who decided to give us a lecture about having our well-behaved puppy on the beach and simply ignored and walked past the other dogs and their owners. I've been coming to this beach for over 25 years. I always have had fond memories of the waves and walking along the rocks. Now coming back with my own son I see how great the rockpool is. Sheltered from the winds and perfect in high or low tide.

There are days when it is a bit too windy, the sea is rough or Bluebottles make their way to the shore but that is the joy of the ocean.

Amazing clean beach with crystal clear water. Breathtaking views. The whole beach area was carefully patrolled by lifeguards from time to time. Nice shower and changing rooms facility. Great place for kids and family but just be mindful as the waves can get really high at times so supervising is a must. Amazing, we would like to come back to Copacabana...
