St Christopher's Cathedral in Canberra is a true gem that beautifully blends spiritual serenity with architectural elegance. From the moment you step onto the grounds, you're welcomed by a peaceful atmosphere that invites reflection and calm.

The cathedral's design is stunning — simple yet majestic, with soaring ceilings and beautiful stained glass windows that cast colourful light across the interior. Whether you're attending a service or just visiting, the sense of history and reverence within these walls is palpable.

The community at St Christopher's is equally impressive. Warm, welcoming, and inclusive, the clergy and parishioners make everyone feel at home, whether you're a regular attendee or a visitor exploring Canberra. The services are thoughtfully conducted, offering a perfect balance of tradition and relevance.

Located conveniently in the heart of Manuka, the cathedral is easily accessible and surrounded by lovely cafes and shops, making it a wonderful stop during a day out in Canberra.

Whether you're seeking a quiet moment of reflection, attending a beautifully conducted mass, or simply appreciating the architectural beauty, St Christopher's Cathedral is well worth a visit. It’s a place that leaves you feeling uplifted...

This cathedral boasts a distinctive structure enhanced by striking visual artwork. The captivating stained-glass windows, with their vibrant hues contrasting against the architectural grandeur, are a particular highlight for me. It's a serene and inspiring spot for both worship and exploration. Although the winter chill can linger despite the heating, the Sunday Mass at 11 am draws a considerable crowd of locals and visitors. Typically officiated by either the archbishop or by the Cathedral's Administrator, their homilies attract attendees from near and far. On the church grounds, adjacent to Marian Place along Canberra Avenue, stands the remarkable statue of Saint Christopher, crafted by the talented Croatian sculptor Ante Dabro. For those visiting Canberra, this place is a true gem not to be missed. Seize the opportunity to offer a prayer for your journey or simply revel in the exquisite windows, each with its own captivating...

I have never been inside this church, and yet it had a special place in my life. You see, when I first came to Canberra and spoke no English, I had to catch the 237 ACTION bus to school to take ESL classes. I did not know which stop to get off the bus coming back home, so my mother told me to remember to get off once I see the church building. That's how I will always remember this building. I...

Canberra's very own Roman Catholic Cathedral. Best time to attend a Mass here is during the 11am Sunday Solemn Mass or, to close off your week, the 5:30pm Sunday Mass. If you ran out of parking space on the side of the cathedral to attend a Mass, you may park for free on the Catholic Education Office, the gated establishment on the other side of Franklin Street.

Built in the late 40s, this large Cathedral is a haven for followers of Roman Catholicism. St Christopher’s isn’t a pretty cathedral and I have to admit is not elaborate inside but does have the original country feel about it, but it is important for those who attend.
