We recently went for a trek from the Shepard's Lookout call the way through to the Uriarra picnic area. The trek crossed the river at Uriarra crossing after which we went up the side of the hill and all the way to the picnic area. The grounds are well maintained and the public bathrooms were clean with hand washing facilities as well.
It was wonderful to see a number of ducks around the picnic area as well, whole families of them big and small.

Read moreOne of the best places to go for a swim in a the ACT especially if you want to bring your dog. Lovely maintained area and plenty of places to have a picnic under the trees. Will get busy on hot days as it is a favourite for many people. No reception there so it’s nice to have some time away from your phone.
