Pizza was delicious. The crust had such a perfect balance of crunch/softness, no chewiness, was delicious! Though, slightly ruined in the centre of the pizza, as the too much wet ingredients added made it soggy and difficult to eat, with toppings falling off. Other items were delicious. Gelato offerings were not traditional (rainbow?) and, would argue, didn’t look like gelato but ice cream. Tiramisu was delicious. Cannoli was yum but same flavour with ends just dusted/coated in different toppings.
Cocktails were good, standard selection, nothing special. Wine list was average and overpriced for what is on offer and lacking information on vintage, etc. Everything else was reasonably priced. Atmosphere was okay, very much the “casual family restaurant” vibe. Not sure why we weren’t offered options on where to sit, place wasn’t near full and they had very different inside/courtyard options.
Service was the biggest let down. Not through lack of it, but the quality. We felt rushed. We took our time ordering and they still rushed us to the dessert menu in 45 mins (we had a 2 hour reservation). Waitress asked if we wanted dessert while my fiancé was still finishing her main! Then asked us to pass plates, then placed them on the table and restacked them in front of us! The staff need to be taught better.
Food was good, decently priced, but unfortunately that service won’t have us coming...
Read moreWent for dinner for my daughters birthday dinner. She had booked for 14 but we ended up with 10 adults and 8 kids. Our table for 14 was long and short tables pushed together some being shorter than the other. There was two other tables for four in that area, thank God as we would have been jammed in together. First impression my daughter received was they were unimpressed we had more people than booked and should have been inform. But the kids didn't really sit most of the time anyway aside from one baby in high chair. I questioned if the smaller tables we're booked and they said they we're but in our time there only one table became occupied! So not impressed with the space we were put to accommodate us. As to the food, you can brag how authentic it is, but for the prices you charge it's way over the top. I had the penne ragu which was extremely oversalted, lasagne portion was small for $29. Focacia bread was wood fired dough! Wood fired pizza was more dough than toppings, don't get me started about the pile of baby spinach dumped on top of the pizza. So very disappointed with the whole night. You got my money this time but never again. Such a shame you TRY and represent Italian style cuisine but you totally failed...
Read moreWe decided to try this restaurant while staying in the area. At first glance, it looked inviting the food smelled great and the place wasn’t very busy, with plenty of tables available. When we asked for a table, though, the greeting felt a bit unwelcoming, as if it was difficult to seat us despite many empty tables.
We sat outside, where the heaters weren’t working, and ordered an entrée, which arrived fairly quickly. Unfortunately, after finishing that within a few minutes, we waited almost an hour or more for our mains. During that time, we noticed takeaway orders being prepared and sent out much faster than meals for those dining in, which made the wait even more frustrating.
When the food finally arrived, it was underwhelming. The seafood pizza, for example, had only five prawns, four pieces of calamari, and no mussels it felt hastily put together and didn’t match expectations. Additionally, there didn’t seem to be many dietary options available, and the staff weren’t very familiar with them when we asked.
Overall, we spent about two + hours at the restaurant and left still feeling hungry. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t a...
