We recently visited the Fyansford paper mills. The Highton Rotary Club are currently running excellent 1 hour heritage tours of the precinct ($10 adult, $6 child) on the weekends. There is little signage on site with the history of the various buildings, so the tour, supplemented with old photos was invaluable. Fascinating history, not just of the paper mills but also the World War 2 mines department. The tour covers a fairly short distance but is jam packed with points of interest. The walking tour is largely wheelchair accessible with some slight slopes. There are also several interesting galleries and workshops on site, a very friendly cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and the Providence winery cellar door /function centre.
