We were a group of ten and unfortunately had a very poor experience at this restaurant. The staff seemed to lack proper training and were quite unsure about portion sizes or how much food would be appropriate for a large group. We specifically asked if the amount we ordered would be enough, and were told it would be but in the end, there was barely enough food for everyone. We all left feeling hungry.
We ordered the Japanese milk bread as an entrée, but perhaps there was some misunderstanding. Only about one-third of the order arrived at first. That first batch tasted great, soft and fluffy but when the rest came out later (after the mains), the bread was dry and stale. It was very disappointing and inconsistent in quality.
We also wanted to do a wine tasting before selecting a bottle for the table. The waiter asked the sommelier, who said he would come by in about four minutes. However, we waited about 45 minutes with no sign of him, and it wasn’t until about 1 hours later (after the mains were served) that he finally cameby, saying, “I heard a rumour this table would like to do some wine tasting.” Throughout that time, it felt like he was deliberately avoiding our table while being warm and attentive to others. The least he could have done was stop by to let us know he’d be delayed, but instead, he seemed to be keeping himself busy doing other things such as putting logs on the fire.
When the wine tasting finally began, he told us it would include four wines for $10, but he only served two, saying he was too busy to bring the rest. In the end, he did not charge for the bread or the wine tasting after realizing how disappointed we were, but by that point, the damage was done.
Overall, the service was underwhelming and what should have been an enjoyable family lunch turned into a frustrating and disappointing afternoon. I had brought my extended family here based on a colleague’s recommendation about the great food and service sadly, our experience was the...
Read moreBefore I post this, I would like to emphasise that this post is primarily focussed on the employees, namely Sarah and Liam, who coordinated and made our wedding day absolutely perfect.
In February 2024, my fiancé’ and I were touring Geelong and the Bellerine to find a wedding venue. Having visited a few venues, there was a couple we were happy with, but not absolutely sold on. When we arrived a Provenance and sat down with Sarah, we knew instantly that we had a venue and our coordinator.
From the moment we had decided on this, Sarah was at our beck and call, even though we had not ever expect her to. Emails replied to instantly, primarily after hours I should add, agendas easy, fluent and flexible and this allowed everything to come together on the day.
While I should emphasise how incredible the food was, as complimented and urged by all our guests, this pales in comparison to the incredible service Sarah provided us on our special day. There is nothing gone wanting. She was just always there, getting canapés and beverages for a bridal party that can be a rather rowdy bunch, and doing it all with sincere joy, professionalism and the perfect touch of banter. It was the one percenters you wouldn’t think of as a bride or groom that Sarah simply had covered.
I am beyond complimentary for the venue, the staff, the food and the service, but I cannot underscore the impact that Sarah had on making our day perfect.
Also, Liam, what a gentleman and professional. Our reception lacked nothing, his coordination of food, drinks and entertainment while having all the front-of-house staff on the same page really spoke volumes of his professionalism.
My wife and I cannot thank you enough for all your efforts and for the beauty of the venue, with details that made our wedding photos mesmerising. Everything was just perfect.
Sincerely, Cobey & Krystyna...
Read moreOur wedding at Provenance Wines was an absolute dream come true. From the moment we stepped foot on the premises, we knew it was the perfect venue for us. The rustic charm of the wine barrels and the thoughtfully designed layout required minimal additional decoration, allowing us to focus on other aspects of our special day. The new ceremony space took our breath away and provided the ideal backdrop for exchanging our vows.
However, what truly sets Provenance Wines apart is its exceptional staff. On the night of our wedding, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every guest had an unforgettable experience, even when our Spotify playlist encountered some hiccups. They seamlessly transitioned to the perfect tunes, keeping the energy high and the dance floor packed.
I must take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to Sarah, the events coordinator at Provenance Wines. From the initial planning stages to the day of the event, Sarah was an absolute angel. Her dedication, professionalism, and attention to detail were evident every step of the way. She anticipated our needs before we even knew them ourselves and handled every challenge with grace and efficiency. From fixing our broken arbour to arranging our last-minute decorations, Sarah truly went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding day was nothing short of perfect. I cannot thank her enough for her tireless efforts and unwavering support.
Provenance Wines is more than just a venue—it's a magical place where dreams come true and memories are made to last a lifetime. I wholeheartedly recommend it to any couple looking for a breathtaking setting and exceptional service for their special day. Thank you, Provenance Wines, for making our wedding day the best day...
