It’s a great park with good variety and plenty of parking. My biggest criticism is that some of the activities just don’t seem safe enough.
The elevated bicycle round-about in particular is high risk and parents rarely supervise this activity well enough.
We have seen several children over the years being hit in the face when they have misjudged the speed or momentum of this activity. This equipment simply should not exist in this park.
There are plenty of climbing activities and the baby area seems a little small and lean in terms of variety but the gated areas are much appreciated by parents.
All in all it’s a busy but nice park with great sight lines and very few obstruction to clear sight.
There are also small treading pods that go around a big track but the centre of the track is filled with thick maze-like bushes and this can be risky too since the children have direct access to the road. I am surprised that no children have been hurt or even taken from the road side when parents have not walked around with their children.
There really should be some sort of fencing to protect direct access to children from Gympie road, especially around the circular track.
Great bbq facilities and families are generally well behave and tend to keep to...
Read moreWhat a fantastic gem right here in Brisbane! Every visit to Pine Rivers Park is an absolute joy. It's truly one of the best, most versatile parks around, perfect for families, friends, or even a peaceful solo stroll. The sheer size of the park is impressive, offering so much space for everyone to enjoy without feeling crowded. The playgrounds are a huge highlight – so well-designed, with plenty of equipment to keep kids of all ages entertained for hours. From the flying fox to the various climbing structures, there's always something new for them to discover. I also love the beautiful open grassy areas, perfect for kicking a ball around, setting up a picnic, or simply relaxing under a tree. The pathways are great for walking, cycling, or scooting, and it's lovely to see so many people out enjoying the fresh air. The facilities are always well-maintained, with clean restrooms and ample parking, which makes a visit here stress-free. There's just a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere about the place that makes you want to linger. Whether you're looking for an active day out, a peaceful escape, or a perfect spot for a family gathering, Pine Rivers Park ticks all the boxes. Highly recommend a visit – you won't be...
Read moreA very popular park on Sundays, particularly for parties. The people who arrived early got the tables, so we brought our own shade, seating and table and found a lovely spot under the trees and close to the amenities setting up in time for lunch. Most people had a bit of a walk from their car parks of which only distant ones were plentiful. We timed our run for the barbecue well; it was in demand. The park could use a few more barbecues scattered through the main picnic area, especially when a large group spreads beyond their shelter shed and encircles two barbecues. After exploring the main playground area, my grandson decided that the monorail was his preferred play place. Fenced playgrounds are of little value when parents who don't want to go and supervise their children prop...
