Bishop's Lodge Historic House — Attraction in Hay South

Extremely poor service. Bloody cold morning standing outside waiting for them to open. It was 10.30 Saturday morning. The sign said they open 9.00 am. We pressed the call button and waited. At 10.42 we phoned and were told to wait as someone was coming. 11.05 we left. We were there on a cold morning for 1/2 hour waiting before we left. Customer service zero. Did they show any interest NO. If it was to cold for them to move then they should say so and not leave people waiting. I wish I could give a negative score on this. My thoughts, go spend your time and money...

Such an interesting and surprisingly large building, with the innovative hot-climate architecture from the Victorian era, and previous residents and uses explained inside. We particularly liked the way of exhibiting objects inside wardrobes and drawers. House plus a walk round the garden filled about 1hr - unless you like to read everything, or want to sit and reflect in the garden. Historic roses and wisteria just coming out, will be stunning in October! NOTE the remote entry instructions and opening times, or check with Hay Visitor Info Centre....

This place is one of the best examples, of a late 19th century house/ manor. We spent 2 hours there, had the toilets been open we would have a spent a little longer.
