park that is good for both walking and cycling. There is also a big lake that house various black swans, just a beautiful scene. Neil Hawkins Park Reviews: Insider Insights and Visitor Experiences. A lovely family oriented park, on your way around the lake. Watch the sunrise on the jetty. Neil Hawkins Park is located in the beautiful setting of Lake Joondalup. It is a stroll away from the waters edge and a jetty which is great for paying a visit. there’s now a fantastic playground, much nicer toilet facilities, and plenty of shade and bbqs. A big carpark means you won’t miss out on a walk down to or around the lake which is home to many native animals and a few not so native. Beware of snakes in the summer. a play area for children, free barbq's that are regularly cleaned by the city of Joondalup, over all.

This site is an important site for the Noongar people and I have to begin by paying my respects to them as the traditional and original custodians of this country as well as to their elders past and present…Amazing park for family with a wide range of activities, snakes have been sighted here so if you intend to take the scenic bike ride just be careful. Pets are allowed but pay attention to the wildlife. There’s also a bike trail with fantastic scenes thru an ancient forest. They provide sheds with barbecue facilities and bathrooms so outdoor hangout is covered ä from all angles. I didn’t spot a shop close by so get everything you need before coming.

Neil Hawkins Park is a beautiful large park with pathways running around the Lake. Although confusing in relation to the sighs stating" Dogs not allowed, on the spot fines" and then on the pathways it states dogs must be on a leash. So I would only "assume" that dogs are not allowed on the park, grassed areas but are allowed on a leash on the pathways. The parks covers a large areas and has undercover table and benches, BBQ's toilets and plenty of parking including disabled parking You can also walk onto the lookout/jetty that gives you a really nice view of the lake

Good parking!! The lake seems huge. There is a small jetty lookout. We saw the long necked turtle on our first visit which was exciting for all of us! Nice walk along the pathways. Easy for strollers and toddlers to negotiate. Had an interesting experience when a huge branch fell from a tree just behind us. A jogger was about 10 metres from it when it fell. Lucky man!! We helped him clear the pathway since bikes also use it which in fact is a bad thing as they speed along at a really fast pace with just a tinkle of a bell. It's hard to tell toddlers to look out the speed they come at you. I find it the most negative thing about this place. Ride a bike ok but please at a reasonable speed so that us family people have time to get our children/grandchildren out of the way!! We want to walk in peace and allow our offspring to be safe. There's also a children's playground with barbecues in the vicinity. Went a second time for the bbq and walk. Good for the kids but...

Neil Hawkins Park in Joondalup, is located beside Lake Joondalup, and part of the Yellagonga Regional Park. The park was named for Neil Campbell Hawkins CBE JP, a chairman of the former Metropolitan Regional Planning Authority.

The park includes a jetty which is great for viewing the wildlife on the lake - ducks, swans, turtles etc. There many shady trees on the vast lawn area for picnicking or kicking a ball.

The playground is partially enclosed, quite compact and easy to keep track of little ones. Around the playground are picnic shelters and BBQ stations, making it a great place for picnics and gatherings. Lake Joondalup has a pathway around it (18 km) that is great for walking, running, bike riding or really anything on wheels.

Neil Hawkins Park is a beautiful place to visit at dusk where you may spot a resident kangaroo or two, just watch out for...
