Recent Edit: July 2024. DO NOT GO! Wife convinced me to give them another chance. Boy was that a bad idea. Meal from the Watergarden was inedible. No lactose free options in the room, reception told us to go to the supermarket. So we did. Walked each way. Get home to find I've been charged $8 for using the minibar? Was asked on check out if we had anything. Of course not. For those prices? Do we look insane? $10 for a beer or $6 for a bottle of water? Thing is though, there's nothing worth $8 dollars in the minibar I can drink due to my stomach condition. Blatant theft. Neither of us touched the minibar and they charged us anyway. Despicable. See further edits down below... Do you like good service, quality food and the amenities you pay for to be available on checking in? Do you want to not use the spa until you clean it yourself because it's still dirty on arrival? Want the drains in the bathroom to smell so badly, you prefer to use the separate half toilet during your stay instead? Wanna pay $22 for some tepid gloop, burnt toast and what looks like the scraps of seafood off someone else's plate? Want to swim in the pool but decide not to because people are swimming in their underwear? Do you like seeing last nights dishes still sitting in the hallway after midday the next day with the same fly you saw the night before? Like your drinks with dairy served with cream past the use by date so your significant other ends up ill? Want to complain about all this and be ignored? Get all that and more right here. 3 stars for the location, why? Less than an hour walk to the local supermarket to buy cleaning products and edible food. Our 11 year wedding anniversary was completely ruined, won't ever return and highly recommend you avoid at all costs.

Dear Owner.

If you read this, don't bother responding here in an attempt to save face. I'd prefer you respond to one of the complaints I lodged through your website. Should be easy enough to match the details mentioned above...

Edit: Added some photos I found. Enjoy. Some more weeks have passed. Still no response to my complaints.

Edit 2: 6 months later. Finally got a response from the ombudsman. Turns out the health department, asking the council, to ask the casino if they addressed it and the casino saying yes is good enough. The casino, the health department and the Meander Council all didn't bother to contact me. The ombudsman finally responded after I lodged a second complaint about my first being ignored. Pathetic. My advice? Don't waste your time complaining. Instead, book a stay at Alice's Cottages, staff and service there...

Management need to take a good hard look at the quality of food being dished up. My table of 5 adults and surrounding table were disgusted with the quality of food available on Show day $47.50 plus 7% add for public holiday (Greek Menu). The meat balls were cold and totalled dried out. The Greek salad was just cabbage with a sticky cream sauce of no taste the diameter of the leafs were about 6inches not even diced. The potatoes were rock hard on the skin and dried out completely. The lamb kebabs were literally like hard plastic and couldn’t be eaten at all, as for dessert 90% small pieces of cake and watermelon. Guaranteed at least 2O people were of the same opinion that the food was made the day before and reheated because of reduction staffing due to penalty wages on a public holiday. 1 chef slicing meat, I waitress topping up the buffet and a a couple behind the bar and on the cash register… our complaints fell on deaf ears are were told simply to email the CC Casino. In the gaming area there was 1 bar staff tending drinks for people, they had to make coffee too for people which caused a backup of people waiting to be served alcoholic drinks which customers giving up waiting and walked away continually, I couldn’t even get a keno ticket on from waiting waiting waiting and was told to go downstairs to purchase a keno because the female bar person was way too busy under pressure… I felt sorry for her and didn’t take my frustration out on her. The casino owners really need to look at the amateur status of how their business has so deteriorated with no quality of service to customers. So sad for the international and mainland visitors to experience what we all did… you might get the customers once… but you won’t get them twice…it was a bad experience throughout our visit.. sorry but needs to be seen and...

I am absolutely appalled by the shocking experience I had at this hotel. We booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child, with breakfast included, but when we went to the restaurant for breakfast, Connor, the staff member there, informed us that the breakfast had only been paid for 2 adults and that we would need to pay extra for our child. This was completely unexpected and unacceptable. When I showed the booking confirmation at reception, which clearly indicated that the final price paid for the room INCLUDED breakfast for all three of us, Steve, the receptionist, was not only unhelpful but downright rude. He insisted that they had only received payment for 2 adults and demanded we pay for the child if we wanted her to eat. His attitude was arrogant and dismissive, making me feel as though I was asking for something for free. The whole situation was embarrassing and unnecessary, especially when I had already paid for the breakfast as part of my booking.

Fortunately, Matt, another staff member, finally stepped in, logged into their Booking.com interface, confirmed there had been a glitch, and made the necessary arrangements for the breakfast. But this should NEVER have happened in the first place. The lack of professionalism, the rudeness, and the failure to address the issue promptly was infuriating.

To make matters worse, the room quality was very shady. The carpet was filthy, worn out, and in desperate need of replacement. The overall condition of the room was old, poorly maintained, and not at all what I expected for the price. It felt more like a budget motel than a club.

This experience has left me thoroughly disgusted, and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The poor service, lack of proper communication, and substandard facilities have ensured that I won’t be returning. Avoid this hotel...

What a lovely surprise this country club was. The food was affordable and quickly served. We had coffee, tarts and toasted Turkish bread at the Watergardens café. The service from the male barista was top notch. Coffee was made to perfection and presented beautifully. The fruit tart's crust was rightfully soft with the tangy fruit complementing the custard pleasantly. We chose to go with cheese and chicken for the toasted Turkish bread and did not regret that decision. Very delicious and bread was not over toasted. We had a chance to have a stroll around the club checking out the foyers, lobby, gift shop, tennis courts and golf course. It was so cute to see visitors feeding the ducks which food can be accessed from reception. The gift shop sports high quality souvenirs so highly recommend travellers to check it out. Girl at the reception was gorgeous and offered absolutely delightful service. I recommend the Country Club Tasmania for a visit for anyone wanting a quick trip outside of Launceston and a nice time. I would love to actually have a chance to book accommodation here and leave an edited review when that time comes.

We had a comfortable stay as a family at Country Club Tasmania for 4 days. Everything was smooth beginning from the check-in until check-out. They allocated us a bigger room with additional bed as promised. The room was squeaky clean. The food at the Terrace restaurant was expensive and on the other hand, reasonably priced at the Watergarden cafe. They also had buffet option for breakfast which could be included with some bookings. There are many guest services like horse riding, tennis, golf, etc. A lake with ducks is just outside for short walks but the nearby grass was not clean. A small children’s play area near the tennis court is also available. A minor nitpick is that the AC filters in the room were not clean which made dust accumulation on our things. However, they cleaned the room every day. So every day, we came back to a tidy room which was very convenient.
