I completely fell in love with this place! It's beautifully maintained, with vibrant gardens and well-kept pathways that invite you to explore. There’s ample parking, making it convenient for families and groups. The area features natural bush walking trails that wind through lush greenery, perfect for a leisurely hike or an invigorating run. For those looking to relax, there are several picnic spots equipped with BBQ facilities, ideal for a family gathering or a fun outing with friends. The highlight is the stunning cable car that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, making for an unforgettable experience. There’s also a picturesque river flowing through the site, complete with a classic-style walking bridge that adds charm and beauty to your stroll. You can often see ducks swimming and families enjoying the scenery. Don’t forget to stop by the quaint café, which serves delicious coffee and snacks. The best part? There’s no admission fee! It’s a fantastic destination to bring your kids for a day of exploration, fun, and bonding. Whether you’re picnicking or simply enjoying the natural beauty, this place is a wonderful spot to create memorable moments together.

What an absolutely amazing experience, we enjoyed our stay at this location so much so that we are compelled to complete and share our experience as early as within today. We cannot emphasise enough on the fact that how beautiful and quite this place is, even though there was a school trip. There is a huge parking space as you arrive at the location, followed by a ticket house just at the entrance. Ticket can be bought online or at the gate, prices vary depending on your circumstances. You can buy one way or return too. Amazing hiking trails 👣 if you are into walks. Also, you know what?! There are wallabies, peacock 🦚 and other native birds 🐦 here. Be nice to the lift operators & they can help you pat these animals 😉 Overall a great experience & will recommend for adults or kids. The George Chair Lift experience is one that truly captures the essence of nature’s beauty. As you ascend, the first thing that strikes you is the lush greenery. Trees in every shade of green stretch as far as the eye can see, creating a tapestry of life that is both calming and invigorating. The water features are equally impressive. From serene ponds to the gentle ripple of streams, the sound of water is a constant companion on this journey. It’s not just a feast for the ears, but for the eyes too, with the sunlight dancing on the water’s surface, creating patterns that are never the same twice. Adding to the charm is a well-maintained swimming pool that reflects the sky above, inviting you to take a refreshing dip. The wildlife is a highlight, with peacocks strutting majestically, their feathers a riot of color. Wallabies hop by, shy yet curious, offering a glimpse into the area’s diverse fauna. But what makes the experience truly memorable is the staff. Their helpfulness and knowledge about the local flora and fauna enhance the visit, making you feel welcome and informed. They are the unsung heroes who ensure that your chair lift journey is safe, comfortable, and unforgettable. In summary, the George Chair Lift isn’t just a trip; it’s an immersion into a world where nature’s beauty is on full display, complemented by top-notch service. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and find a moment of peace among the wonders of the natural world.

it’s important to note that while there is a fee for parking. The chair lift experience itself is priced, but families can take advantage of the family return ticket. This is especially cost-effective for groups of four, including children. It’s a smart choice for families seeking a day out, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the breathtaking scenery without worrying too much...

Wow, what a ride. This has to one of the few places left where over the top safety measures have not destroyed the experience. The staff are courteous and friendly offering great advice on the best way to experience the stunning george. Pay your fee and walk up to the chairlift where you will be met by a very proficient attendant, "place feet on circle, arms forward and sit into chair as it moves" and that's it, off on a great ride. Don't forget to put your safety bar down yourself. Dangling over the George the views are spectacular and you have to stop yourself from "snap happy" to enjoy the ride and soak in the atmosphere. As you glide over the tops of the trees on the way up, Peacocks call to you as you pass. As you arrive at the top another attendant walks towards you reminding you lift the safety bar and to walk off at an angle following the lines on the path. All simple and works well. We elected to take the advice of the staff and walk down through the George crossing the river on the swinging bridge. The paths are very well signposted with many convenient stopping points on the way. The gardens are very well maintained and the wildlife is abundant. We were greeted by friendly wallabies and a number of peacocks one very intent on demonstrating his mating dance to an admiring potential mate. All in all a very pleasant way to loose a few hours immersed in nature. The only caution I would offer that there are times during the day, especially late afternoon, when we were there, when you have to share the park with those pesky joggers who appear out of nowhere, however they are very friendly and courteous. The chair lift here is the main attraction. When we go in the chair lift the view down below is superb and pleasure to watch. You can see two swimming pools side by side of different depths filled with crystal clear blue water.Side of it you can see the river basin of South Esk river.A little behind you can see the famous Alexandra Suspension bridge across the South Esk river. There is a small children park at the start of the chair lift station. If we go the other end of the chair lift station few birds can be seen.In this one dancing peacock is the main attraction. We can avoid the chair lift and still reach the same spot, through a walk way.The walk is also really enjoyable as Same scenes can be viewed from the bridge over the river. The Chair lift is special because the span of the chair lift is the largest in the world as displayed at the entrance.308 Metres is the centre span and total length is 457 Metres.Benches with tables are provided to have some snacks carried by you for a picnic. The capacity of the suspension bridge is to carry a maximum of 60 people. The Bridge should not be swung as per the the instructions there. The walk on the bridge seeing the South Esk river down below and Pools and river basin on the other side is enjoyable. The passage of chair lift in motion can be enjoyed from here too.The facilities are provided for a canteen,Wash rooms and car parking.Kids can enjoy the small park provided for them, and also enjoy the movement of chair lifts on both sides to the full extent.Overall it is a good experience. We feel like going...
