We had such high hopes for Kings Bridge.

We called the day before to ask if the footy was being played on Saturday arvo, which we were assured it would be - great! We advised the person we would arrive about 4pm for a few beers and then we'll book for dinner at 6/6:30pm. A note was made on our booking to say we'd be at the bar watching the footy and will come over when our reservation time came.

My partner and I talked excitedly about getting the seafood platter to share, and how cool it is going to be to watch the footy with a few cold ones.

Cue getting there just after 4pm. The young lady behind the bar was cycling through free to air channels for the footy, and when my partner let her know the footy was on Foxtel, we were advised they don't have that. So no football. We left and found an alternative place.

We ended up returning for our reservation. Service was prompt, and the young man was lovely. However, when we ordered the seafood platter, we were informed that the chefs would more than likely not be doing shared platters because of how busy it is? It is a Saturday night, early dinner session... so needless to say we were disappointed, especially when we made the booking and were already let down by the misinfirmation about the footy.

The waiter went to check and confirmed there's no platters. So we opted for some oysters Kirkpatrick, prawn tacos and a small pizza for our Tiny Human.

Food was good, but we had a very sour taste in our mouth and left feeling underwhelmed and...

Went to kings bridge for a special event with multiple people including 4 children. All 2 years old. Their meals took an hour and half (snitzels with chips) and then our meals took over two hours (parmy and chips and chicken, mushrooms and salad. By this time the kids were over it. I seen someone else get their meals as take away as they had young children too. I went to the bar and asked the young man behind the bar if I could get our two meals takeaway as I had seen someone also with young children just leave with some. The young man told me that they do not do take away as they aren’t licensed for it. I told him I want my money back or meals takeaway. He said he would ask the chef how long the meals. He then sent out a lady who told me that they don’t do takeaway. I said I have waited over two hours I have four kids with me who were upset and disturbing other people at this stage and that I had just watched them do takeaway meals. She then said she would do take away and the apologised. She then bought out our meals, we were outside waiting. We went home and ate our meals. I wouldn’t recommend eating here. The meals were nothing outstanding for the price and the wait. The kings bridge is a nice venue however, the kitchen staff and bar staff were obviously overwhelmed and it showed. Highly...

Over the service and the attitude of the waitresses of the restaurant was really bad. This review is dated 11 March 2019. We waited for our food for 1hour and 30min. Not just that, we were served with the wrong dish with one of our orders. And that was because the waitress didn’t repeat our order before she proceeded to the kitchen . But when the wrong dish was served we graciously accepted it and agreed to pay for it. Later one waitress came with the correct dish and said it’s complimentary so we accepted it and ate it. But to our amazement upon payment of the bill, we were billed for the complimentary dish. When we told the supervisor about it, she said the waitress would have to obtain permission from her to serve food with compliments, but she didn’t. And the supervisor insisted that we would have to pay for the food since we already ate it. In addition she forgot to add in a 15% public holiday surcharge in the bill but told us verbally that the bill is 15% more than it was presented. We find the supervisor very poor in her management and PR skills and caused unnecessary unhappiness for their...

Slipped in for a $20 pot and parmi special, food was delicious, big meals for $20, a very un-boring salad, chips (cooked to perfection) and a slab of thick chicken parmi with a tasty cheese mix on top. Service left a lot to be desired, ignored at bar when we first walked in (staff member did have dirty plates on her way to kitchen) but then walked straight back out without even a side eye no bell to ring, went into restaurant staff did their best to not serve us again. Finally came through with some service which was fine. While eating in the bar area another group came in and waited for service at the bar, they also had to go into the restaurant for service, maybe management couple use a sign stating bar isn't staffed between certain hours or a bell to get staff attention

It’s so nice to read about the history of the building, and seating outside you can enjoy the old feel of the English style buildings. They gave us complementary bread with butter and salt which was nice. I tried their parmi with their special sauce instead of traditional sauce. The idea sounded great, but when it came, it didn’t taste great. I think they need to be more generous with the cheese because it would make it better, but in general it was pretty boring and slightly burned and dry. I asked for veggies instead of salad which they gave generously which I appreciated. Chips are not bad. My husband had bourbon pork tacos and he said it was ok. So unfortunately overall great atmosphere and service but the food wasnt great.

Great food and staff set in a gorgeous building! We grabbed a table in the bar area as the restaurant was booked out and ordered our food at the bar. We had Half a dozen Natural Tasmanian Oysters, Cauliflower Tacos and the Pork Belly Cos Cups (extra info with pics). The food was really delicious - especially the Tacos - only drawback was that the Pork was a little bit dry but other that that we loved the execution with the lettuce cups!! The staff were all really friendly in spite of it clearly being a huge day (it was Mother’s Day evening). So good to see them still smiling after what would have been a very busy time! Would definitely recommend this restaurant and if it’s booked out head to the bar, you won’t be disappointed!
