Playground 2* Waterpark 4* out of 5* (pics attached) The playground is old and gloomy concrete and metal jungle, very run down and quite depressing to be quite honest, at least for me, a parent. It is disappointing that Logan does not have many nice playgrounds, definitely not this one. We love Calamvale District Park, Orion Lagoon Park, Rocks Riverside Park, Bob Gamble Park (has water park), Roma street parkland playground, New Farm park playground or Botanical Gardens Playground but all are a bit of a drive. Those are all fantastic and if you like any of these you will probably not like Logan Gardens either. This playground has such a potential with gorgeous trees and nice parkland and I can imagine some timber climbing forts, low rope course, trampolines or climbing towers with slides running through the trees to be added to what is currently there and upgrading the curent stuff. All the metal is either filthy or coroded and concrete old and cracked with peeled paintings. I miss timber and natural features to connect it to nature a bit more and make it more modern and fun really. It feels like it was built thirty years ago and left unmaintained all those years - that is probably the best way to put it.
We visited today as the new water park opened in there this weekend (finally a first place in Logan has some water park). We were dissapointed to see that the playground was missing the timber fort that run all around it through the gorgeous trees, that was giving it a bit of a wow factor about a year and a half when we were there last, as you walked into the playground through a big gate the fort was creating under the board walk, from memory. With that gone you just have metal and concrete everywhere.
All in all I think Logan needs to visit above mentioned parks to see how great playgrounds are done in Brisbane and Ipswich.
As far as waterpark, it is great there is one now but we prefer Rocks Riverside as Logan Gardens unfortunatelly doesnt have any knee hight area where kids could practice some floating on the water. It is all covered with jets or splashing showers and our little one is scared of those. There is a raised concrete block with water sitting in it under ankle hight which is the only spot without jets but is small and crowded and too shallow. Adding a knee deep area away from jets and under shade would make us go back even with a boogie board or pool noodle. It is nice to see there are brand new toilets right next to it and also quite a few new seats and tables are around but again, all metal or concrete. More timber throughout and tropical greenery would be a nice...
Read moreNot much option for the little babies/toddlers. Good for kids over 3 years old. Such a shame considering how big the area is! it wouldn’t hurt to add low playing area for babies and toddlers suitable for their heights. There is an enclosed area which would be perfect for it. Logan city council should move everything in there next to the bigger kids cubby house section and use the enclosed gated area to design a space for babies/toddlers. I’m sure a lot of parents would value this. The only plus side is the water area! You will also find there is so much cigarettes and rubbish on the ground yikes! I feel like they need to invest in multiple littering signage as i don’t think any amount of cleaners...
Read moreLarge park in the heart of Logan. Has a splash park. Has plenty of gazebos and tables and community BBQs. Public toilets and large open grass area. Has basketball courts and other areas to play volleyball. Also has frisbee golf course. Plenty of play equipment scattered around for the younger kids. Great place to get outside and let the kids run around. Also good for gatherings as plenty of space and the gazebos, tables, BBQs allow for meeting points and eating. 2 off the leash dog areas, 1 for small dogs and 1 for big dogs. Covers everything really. Ample parking spaces...
