Deep South Chicken Logan Central — Restaurant in Logan City

Deep South Chicken have three stores at the time of writing this review. Logan Central is the most convenient for those attending this delightful restaurant when travelling from the Brisbane Prefecture. Upon arriving at the store, we were greeted by a friendly service person, whose name escapes me. The service person was more than keen to take our order and asked all the appropriate questions for a virgin like myself, who had never before enjoyed the ambrosia of the Deep South. With my order placed I took a seat at one of the few table options, eating in doesn’t seem to be a preference at this store.

My food arrived very quickly and was piping hot and fresh. The Nashville chicken tenders were perfectly fried with a crispy batter and covered in the famous Nashville spices. The Nashville spice mix at this chain is on the saltier side and could potentially be a bit sweeter. The chicken was fresh and perfectly cooked. My Mac and Cheese was piping hot, with steam rising enticingly from it’s cheesy depths. The Mac and Cheese is a delightful, cheesy treat, very tasty! My only critique would be that the dish requires some bread crumbs to add some crunch to the texture.

The Nashville Chicken burger was my next victim, nestled against an enticing pile of fries, the burger was fresh, hot and oh so juicy, with Nashville oil dripping from the lettuce leaves, likely the healthiest option on the menu. Overall the meal was terrific, very filling and rewarding, hot and fresh!!

I had a terrific experience at Deep South Chicken. Worth the 35 minute drive from Brisbane for all lovers of the burning bird. The store is obviously aimed at takeaway and food delivery to the domicile, so the ambiance is somewhat lacking at this store. The prices are very reasonable, with my entire feast costing under $40. I will definitely return the next time I am craving that southern fried chicken experience!!...

First time i ordered last week, nashville hot chicken tenders, it was good. Thought it was one of the best tasting chicken tenders ive ever tasted. Talked about it to my partner about how good the chicken was, so we traveled more than an half an hour tonight so he can taste it as well. we ordered the nashville hot chicken tenders, take away , but Oh Lord, they smothered jt with very excessive chilli or hot powder or whatever that is that my partner was only able to have 2 bites of the 5 nashville hot chicken and i only ended up eating 2 but had to work my way to scrape out the excessive powders that was stuck in the chicken. Mind you we were so hungry but we cant eat it !!!, too much chilli powders on the chicken tenders. Very disappointed and i felt like i just wasted my money!! Their mac and cheese taste like they cooked it in woodfire or something with the smoky smell/taste . I want to support small business but i change my mind about this one because of our bad experience tonight. Might as well train your crew not too put too much powder after frying the chicken because oil absorbs more powder than...

My partner and I had a wrap meal each, and I had wings as a side while my partner had mac & cheese.

The chicken was overcooked, both on the wraps as well as the wings. Not only was the chicken overcooked, it tasted like the oil in the fryers has been due for a change for quite a while. We asked for no pickles on one wrap yet still got them, and both the lettuce and the slaw on the wraps was soggy.

Overall the food tasted old and stale, that is apart from the mac & cheese and the brownies. These were the only two items that we enjoyed to some extent.

The staff do not greet you as you enter, and you’ll end up standing there waiting for some time for service, which was mediocre at best.

I definitely won’t be back. If you want some decent USA take away try Slims instead.

Update: it has been 30 minutes since we ate and now my partner is in the bathroom...
