Stopped by KFC Woodridge and made a simple mistake — ordered a burger with sauce for a picky kid. Not the end of the world. I figured I’d head inside, ask if I could buy a fresh bun, swap it out, and be on my way.
The younger staff were polite, clearly trying to help, but also clearly stuck. They weren’t the problem - you could see they wanted to do the right thing but knew better than to act without clearance. So they called the manager.
And that’s when things stopped making sense.
The manager didn’t ask for context. Didn’t pause. Didn’t care. Just flatly said I couldn’t buy a bun — that the only option was to purchase a whole new burger. That was it. No room for reasoning, no interest in outcome. The first burger hit the bin, not because anyone couldn’t help, but because someone in charge wouldn’t.
This wasn’t a staff issue. This was a failure in management.
A good manager backs their team with flexibility and trust — teaches them how to handle the small things so the customer walks away satisfied. But this one? They did the opposite. They turned a tiny, fixable problem into a wasteful, frustrating dead end.
And for what? To follow a rule no one could even explain with a straight face?
It’s the kind of leadership that doesn’t improve anything - just slows everything down and trains everyone underneath to stop thinking.
All it would’ve taken was four words: “Here’s a spare bun.”
But instead, I got a ten-dollar lesson in how not to...
Read moreCame here tonight at 9 Only there being 5 people on is understanding as I work in fast food myself but one young lady took our order and then said “there is no potato and gravy what else can I get for you” then said “we only have pepsi max aswell” That was ok but just didn’t sound happy to be at the job really. Then proceeded to wait in line 20 min moved to the window then were paying cash and was told to reverse so tried but another car was there. We were doing seperate payment majority being cash and a little on card so they came back to the window and said my card declined. We tried to ask how much they were putting on the card and then proceeded to leave the window because they didn’t have many staff on. We sat there and they came back and said it declined again got that out of the way then just the attitude and it was dirty inside no effort to clean up even though one that appeared to be the manager was walking around. One guy was sweeping up all the dirt on the floor and three of the girls were dealing with our transaction. I get it is late night and a little busy but please prioritise better you all did not need to be dealing with the transaction when they were at least 3 other peoples orders on the screen.. So waited a total 30min. Got home to eat was good except chicken was a...
Read moreIM FUMING! I go to KFC Woodridge after work to get some dinner and order a zinger burger combo. Usually before I order they start off by listing at least 10 things that aren't available anymore despite there being 2hrs till close. Tonight thankfully they said they had chicken fillets but to no surprise they left me unsatisfied. I waited almost 30 minutes for my order to come out meanwhile they were inside messing around right in front of the window! After it finally comes out I take it home and open it and GUESS WHAT! My zinger burger was a bun with cabbage a smidge of mayo and A CHICKEN THIGH PIECE LIKE A LITERAL CHICKEN PIECE WITH BONES IN IT!! This was unnaceptable and I'm FUMING! I had to take the chicken off the bone to make my own burger which ended up being terrible because it wasn't a fillet nor was it a zinger. And as a side they filled my chips like half way!!!! IM FUMING! they've let me down before but this. THIS IS WHERE I DRAW THE PINE WHEN I GET A BONE FILLED CHICKEN THIGH ON MY SUPPOSE TO BE ZINGER BURGER! I am APPAULED! IF I COULD GIVE THEM ONE STAR I WOULD!!!! I've had it! Thanks for listening if you want a good meal don't go...
