This was my first time visiting this garden and working far and had a wonderful time. Spent over two hours just exploring and relaxing and soaking up the environment. At the heart of this place is the Dame Elizabeth Murdoch's home. Although closed to the public, it is an iconic building that stands with beautiful design and is well looked after. If you're with kids there is plenty to do. I'd suggest a stroll around the lakes and soak up the wetlands, birdlife, animal life, water life - but please don't feed the ducks bread. The gardens are wonderful and I was fortunate enough to see some of the spring ones flowering. Everything looked so spring ready. Benches are sprinkled across the farm and it's nice to be able to stop and enjoy everything around you. There is a nice place to buy a cuppa and have some scones. Not cheap but they taste great. Highlights of the property include The family home itself along with the grass tennis court, the pool area, the stables (made of stone from a local quarry), the Picking garden filled with a vast variety of roses and the serene lake area where many ducks wander. The driveway of over 100 Lemon Eucalyptus trees is picturesque and evidence of the thought and planning that has gone into this estate by Lady Murdoch and her expert...

There is something about walking up the original drive way that is very evocative, the scent of the gums that everyone talks about is not exaggerated. You imagine what the area must have been like when it was all farm land and not residential suburbs. Don't expect huge areas of flowering garden, the walled garden and picking garden are charming and gave me gardeners envy but the lawns lakes and amazing trees...
