Hudsons Coffee — Restaurant in Melbourne

I am one of the staff of the hospital and a regular customer of Hudson’s Coffee, the coffee and food are good but there were 2 occasion when I ordered a meat pie eat in and was disappointed when served as take away. I ate my pie anyway and have commented to the staff after about it but they said because they are already closing in half an hour. Is that a policy that if you are closing in half an hour the food to be served eat in and should be in a plate will be served as take away? They also told me that if customer don’t ask they won’t tell that the food will be served as take away instead of eat in. We are the coffee capital of the World and yet so many places let us down. I've travelled throughout Europe and struggled to get a decent coffee but come home to Melbourne and grateful for all our wonderful cafes. However, chain stores don't always get it right - even though I know they try hard. Although the staff are friendly, I'm here for a coffee and found it to be average. Too much froth and not enough coffee. Of course, if I'm desperate for one and there is nothing else around, it's better than nothing. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking....

The bagels here are terrible. They were so hard I couldn't even chew them. After asking for a replacement, I waited over 10 minutes, and nothing came out. When I mentioned it again, that’s when they finally started preparing it. The service was awful. The staff weren't friendly, and no one smiled. Especially since this is a hospital, I believe they need to be more mindful. The people here, including myself, have no choice but to eat here because a family member or someone dear to them is sick.
