Davy Lane Reserve is bigger than it looks - if you factor in the section at the back, which runs all the from Springvale Road back to Tarrara Road. It's about 1.6km front to back (though the back end doesn't look like part of the park on the map) and has oodles of potential. More than that, there are plans to continue upgrading the parkland, which is terrific. At the front is the lovingly restored Strathdon House, now being used as a neighbourhood/community house. It is possible to walk front to back if you don't mind some cat-tracks or no tracks in a couple of spots. I'll admit it felt like the Tardis to me... it looks small from the front, but it is bigger on the inside.

Spacious and wide with a great view of the mountains. Perfect for some sports or a run with the grass not being too muddy. Recent upgrades have meant there is a nice place for a BBQ with an undercover bench, public bbq and nice orchids and plants to enjoy.

Awesome dog park, bordered mostly by back fences, so dogs can enjoy the space without the danger of roads. The path connecting through it is pretty useful for cyclists, but the gravel is a bit too loose for safe riding.

This is quite possibly the worst Cricket ground I have ever played on, and seems to be very low on the Council's list of Reserves to maintain. No facilities to speak of, ie public toilets, water fountains with or without dog taps, no bins and no dog bag dispensers, which meant the home Club had to spend 10 mins before the match cleaning up quite a bit of crusty business. That alone is dissapointing that local dog walkers aren't even cleaning up after their pets. This really needs to be overhauled in a big way by the Council, ensuring there is also some form of shelter from the Sun to be considered up to current Cricket Australia standards for grounds to be used at any level, especially Juniors. Pity I couldn't give...
