The Lower Eltham park is renowned for its miniature railway, and rightly so. The longest track set up I have ever encountered, coupled with the most comprehensive and realistic train facilities and infrastructure, make for a truly unique and totally awesome experience. Load the family on to one of the dozens of replica trains and enjoy a 15-20 minute run for only a few dollars per adult, children 2 and under FREE (cash only for this wholly volunteer run local institution). Read moreA pretty good park with a Cricket ground that doubles as Lacrosse pitch and a fully enclosed Dog Park. There's also another green that's used for mixed sports and a miniature railway that runs around the Main Road and Creek section of the park.
On the downside the drainage can be a bit rubbish after high rainfall and the dog park element is lacking better planning, particularly considering there are probably more people using this space to exercises and socialise dogs than use it for sports over the course of a typical week.
