Agnes & Alban Café — Restaurant in Melbourne

Food was cooked in a kitchen right in front of us and I watched the lady burn my toast to almost cremation and then put my avocado on top hoping I didn't notice I guess. Had to ask for a new piece so my infant daughter could actually eat it. My friend ordered pancakes with bacon and the bacon was omitted from her meal with her having to ask for it. We later noticed it had been added to mine by accident when i hadnt asked for any, and noted later that the charge was added to both of our meals despite me not ordering it (waitress even came back to clarify our orders as she had forgotten them between our table and the register). Bacon was wayyyyy undercooked and mostly inedible. Poached eggs were cooked well and the smashed avo with seeds was tasty, but was missing the feta that was mentioned on the menu. Good potential for a cafe but sadly missed the mark on...

Really lovely staff who provided friendly service. Sadly the salads were not great - very bland and tasted a bit old and lacking freshness. The steak sandwich was ok but not something you'd be excited to pay $20 for again. They had 'supreme'beans but my coffee was very weak even though I ordered a strong. This would definitely be a 3.5 as the service was great and I'm guessing the other menu items are great based on the other reviews but can really only go off what we ordered. I'll give it another shot in future and hopefully...

I popped into this cafe on my long drive home this morning and ordered a coffee and a veggie focaccia. I was greeted upon entering and the coffee and focaccia was served quick… did I mention how delicious they were!? Coffee was amazing, perfect temperature to drink right away and the focaccia was heaven! I came home to find out I live 50min away from here but I would definitely make a drive there to order again!
