Recently took my friend’s dog, Rosie, for a walk in Hopetoun Gardens, and it was such a pleasant experience. The park is beautifully maintained, with well-manicured gardens and clean pathways, making it a truly inviting space.
The cascading trees provide plenty of shade, and the rotunda with seating is a perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery.
The playground is well-designed and a great size for kids, and the intersecting pathways make it easy to explore the park. It’s also in a convenient location—an easy walk from the main road, with tram access nearby. The homes surrounding the gardens are very lucky to have such a picturesque space in their view!
While the park has clear signage about keeping dogs on a leash, it was disappointing to see some owners not following the rules. As always, picking up after pets and respecting the rules helps keep our parks clean and enjoyable for everyone.

It's well maintained by Glen Eira council with a formal garden, a band stand and plenty of benches and picnic tables. The beautiful old trees are well signed so its educational too.
