As an Uber Eats driver, I pride myself on providing prompt and courteous service. However, my recent experience at Millers Pizza Elsternwick was disheartening and warrants attention.

Upon arrival to collect two separate orders, I was initially assisted by the receptionist who handed me the first order. When I inquired about the second order, I was abruptly told that I could not take it. This was followed by a confrontational encounter with another staff member who aggressively insisted that I cancel the second order or forfeit both. He argued that the second order would take an additional 20 minutes to prepare, raising concerns that the first order would cool down, despite my assurance that insulated bags are used to keep food hot.

The situation escalated when I was repeatedly insulted and told to wait outside, despite explaining that I would need to stay until the order was officially cancelled by the restaurant. While waiting, I overheard the same staff member speaking to Uber support, requesting to have me banned from picking up orders from their location, without providing the full context of the situation.

Furthermore, the response to my initial review included a threat to report me to authorities, which seems to be an excessive reaction to a delivery partner sharing their experience. It's important for all parties involved with Uber Eats to engage in transparent and respectful communication, and to understand the terms of service, which includes respecting the role of delivery drivers.
