It's a beautiful recreational and wetland area! There's a huge lake which is a good spot for a variety of recreational activities such as canoeing, kayaking, sailing, etc. It's also a good spot for fishing in the designated zones. The lake is surrounded by a large asphalt walking track which is ideal for walking, running and cycling. On the Warrigal Road side of the road there are trails that run through the wetlands which is a good spot for bird watching. The park is perfect for picnic with family and friends. There are multiple open areas with barbecues and picnic tables. There's also a playground for the kids and public toilets. In addition, there's an observation tower that overlooks the lake which is a great spot for taking photos. The park is easily accessible and there's a parking area onsite. I highly recommend visiting this park!

One can't expect a well maintained vast green right next to an industrial area. The Karkarook park is a pleasant place to have a picnic, fishing, a bike ride, a jog or run and even for water sport. There are public toilets, barbeque grills and shelters to protect from sun & rain. It is quite easy to spot some parrots, magpies, black swans, little pied cormorant and other birds. There is a kids playground too. Car parking is available and seems enough unless you arrive on a weekend and a bright day. There are restaurants within 5 minutes drive, so arranging food is not an issue. Sadly the park does not have any garbage bins and requests visitors to take their trash with them. Obviously some dimwits don't.

Gotta love this oasis in the burbs. Paid a visit on a sunny Friday afternoon and enjoyed the serenity. I have been here on weekends when the crowds descend and you can't get a parking spot in the main carpark unless you are really early or late or damn lucky. It's a wonderful place with water wildlife, trees, a walking/running/cycling/pram-pushing track which goes all the way round the lake. There are also BBQ and picnic facilities. You can join Friends of Karkarook Park if you like caring for green spaces - this one is 15 hectares. Check it out!

Brilliant park, full of bustle, especially on the weekends. Lovely view of water from all around a beautiful lake — takes about 30 minutes to walk around the big lake. There are smaller trails too, and BBQ areas and playgrounds as well as toilets. The only downside was the traffic, as trying to walk along the trails we were met with a lot of engine noise from the roads. Other than that, the park was relatively peaceful, though very active as far as parks go! Loved seeing all the different kinds of birds, too.

I can't believe I've lived so close to this beautiful park for many years and had never been before! Since the first time, I've been back many times. During lockdown it has been blissful to be able to meet a friend for a walk around the lake - seeing Swans and their cygnets has been a joyful bonus. There are a couple of BBQ's, as well as gazebos and tables & chairs/benches dotted around the place, public toilets, a playground and plenty of parking. I can't speak highly enough of Karkarook Park.
