Best playground in Melbourne, suitable for all ages, from toddlers to big kids. It was a bit windy as it’s on top of the hill but was still worth the fun.

Save this for when you’ve got some older kids – Officer District Park is next level. We’re talking two giant 20m slides, a multi-level playground built into the hillside, rope nets, a parkour zone, in-ground trampolines, swings and a smaller toddler area at the bottom. Just a heads up – the big slides are only for kids 120cm+, and you’ll definitely want runners on because there are plenty of steps to climb. There’s also a loop walking track, fitness stations, and even a fenced dog park so you can bring the furry kids too. 📍 Officer District Park, Lansell Ave, Officer VIC 3809 ⏰ Open daily, dawn to dusk ✨ Tip: wear runners! This is one of those parks that makes you sweat, laugh, and then go home feeling like today was well spent. #melbournewithkids #thingstodoinmelbourne #adventureplayground #melbournekids #officerpark

Its open! No idea why it says closed on google. But, we went here and there were so many people at 9am. There is a parking lot before you get to the park area - the parking however, is quite limited. There are toilets at the parking lot, which makes it perfect for parents to take their children first before going up to the play area. The play area consists of 2 area’s. A “toddler” area which is on the lower entrance and then a bigger kids area where the long slides are. There was about (from memory) 6 play areas all together. The toddler area had a water play area! But the main attraction is the colourful will with the giant slides. There are trampolines, swings, slides, rock climbing, ropes for climbing etc. Plenty of things to do! The area is amazing, but best to keep your eye on your children especially if they climb the colourful hill, towards the long slides. The hill was quite steep, so one wrong step could lead to an accident. Definitely climb up with your kids! There was also a fitness trail that had steps. The view at the top was amazing. Definitely hit this trail for extra steps to your day! My only complaint would be the lack of shade. We went on a 28* day and parents were setting up picnic rugs right beside the playground areas on the bark, because there was no shade or benches near the actual playgrounds. There were only 2 bbq areas which had 2 tables each. If you’re planning to hold a party or an activity here, it’s best to come early to secure those areas! Hope this helps!

Wow! This park is amazing. It was my first visit, and whoever designed this hilltop park is a genius. There's so much play equipment for everyone, not just kids—even parents can join in the fun. It's a fantastic place for families to spend time together while the children play. There's a shaded BBQ area and a beautiful view; I almost didn't want to leave. Steps lead all the way to the top of the hill, where there are seats to relax and enjoy the sunset. The park is also great for exercise, with the steps providing a good workout. There's even a dog park for pets to run around. It's clearly a popular spot for families with children. It would be great to have more seating at the top of the hill, as people were rushing to grab our seats as soon as we left. 😀 I also think it would be a perfect spot for a romantic sunset date! 😍 I wish I lived closer. 😊 There's a car park, but more parking spaces are needed. It's still quite new, and I'll definitely be visiting again soon. The only improvement needed is for people to dispose of their rubbish responsibly, either by using the provided bins or taking it home with them, to help keep the park clean. A restroom is conveniently located within the park. I'm from Beveridge and was visiting family in...

I am conscious that this is a work in progress, however it needs to be said that opening a park like this in the middle of summer and having barely any shade is not the best approach. There's only about 3 undercover seating areas across the entire park, and the rest cops the full brunt of the sun, bar one climbing frame section that has shade cover. The equipment and variety in play areas and age appropriate areas are fantastic, because there's something for everyone. Toilet facilities desperately need attention and regular maintenance - my 5yo refused to go because of how dirty and messy it was inside. We travelled for just under 3 hours to visit this park, and decided it's not worth a trip back. Maybe in a few years when it's all finished and there's more shade options. Also, word of advice; adults really shouldn't go down the zigzag slides. They're extremely sharp corners, that very roughly bash you and the children on the way down, but I also ended up with nasty burns on my elbows from them being bashed on the way down. My fault for agreeing to go down so my 5yo + 2yo could have a turn, so if your children ask you to go with them, apologise and say...
