Pambula Rivermouth — Attraction in Pambula Beach

Around the corner from the southern end of Pambula Beach, this gloriously calm estuarine swimming spot has turquoise waters that stay shallow until you reach the channel in the middle of the river. Pambula river mouth is really pretty, with enough free parking, picnic tables and a level pathway to accessible toilets and outdoor shower. The water is a few degrees colder than the sea, but the bottom is flat and it’s so clear you can see your toenails. Thankful the sun turned it on so we could see the different shades...

This is a gorgeous must see when you're near Pambula. We were recommended to go see it by a local at the markets and it didn't disappoint. The water was crystal clear. You need to time your visit for an incoming tide because that's when it's most gorgeous and good for swimming...but even when the tide is going out, the colour of the water is spectacular, you just need to be more careful with...

On the right day with the right tide, this place is as magical as you could get anywhere in the world. Had a winter swim and the water was fresh but perfect. I would probably avoid this place in the height of summer as it is limit d parking and a residential area. I suggest off peak visits on those beautiful winter or autumn days. Very clean toilet block.
