Went to wet side today with my nearly 3 year old autistic and non verbal son, he was having the best time! He loved it so much, would give 5 stars but the supervisor raised his voice at my son to the point my son sat there crying, he had gone down the slide as he had been for a while, he would get to the bottom, get straight out and run up the stairs to go again, but this grumpy supervisor decided he was taking too long to get out because another girl didn’t wait for him to get out and hit him from behind, it wasn’t even 10 seconds once he reached the bottom of the slide and he was literally trying to stand up and the supervisor started raising his voice at him, telling him he needs to get out straight away and bent down towards him standing over him and told him to hurry up and get out, I was standing right there and tried to explain that my son doesn’t understand what he is saying and he needs longer then 2 seconds to get out, I also told him to please not raise his voice at my son, he then told me he wasn’t raising his voice, even though I was standing right behind him and I was watching and heard the whole thing, and he said I should be next to the slide to get him out straight away, which I was, but my son is able to get out himself, I found him to be very rude and not understanding of my sons issues even after trying to explain, he kept cutting me off and seemed to not want to listen, I ended up leaving as I was obviously furious at how rude the supervisor was to my son and me. It’s a public place on a hot day so I fully understand there were lots of kids playing and going on the slide too, but his attitude and the way he stood over my son was unnecessary. Otherwise, had...

Read moreFantastic work Hervey Bay! This free water park is a great place for locals and visitors. There's plenty of shade, seats and tables for mum and dad's, it's accessible for wheelchair users and there's even a good little cafe to get some hot chips and a beer or two for dad while mum watches the kids. The Park offers lifeguards (not babysitters) and there's a very shallow water play area for the bubbas. The waterslides on the grounds charge a fee and you must be 120cm tall to ride them but they are fun and worth the money, just beware they are pitch black inside. Gorgeous views from the boardwalk that surrounds the park over...
