Lake's Folly Vineyard — Attraction in Pokolbin

Edited after realising I was being unfair. Tasting was not rushed. It’s meant to be 15 minutes. So you go there if you really want to taste the two wines. It’s not the type of tasting where you chill and relax.

I’ve had Lake’s Folly wine in the past and enjoyed it, so thought it would be worth the trip just to tastes two wines. Was a bit disappointed when the wines did not meet my high hopes. Perhaps the chardonnay could have been served at a cooler temperature for enjoyment.

The four of us rocked up late in the afternoon and were greeted with a smile. We weren't sure what to expect or even if they'd let us try their wines. They do a tasting of their two wine varieties. One white, a Chardonnay (2012). One Red, the Cabernets (2012). Both wines were quite lovely and were priced accordingly ($65 a bottle). Lake's Folly was a wonderful wine tasting experience. It was our first stop on our wine tasting experience yesterday because we have always enjoyed their wines before, and the new wines lived up to their reputation! The hosts were very welcoming and attentive, and made us feel like old friends. The setting is charming, and of course the wines are stellar.
