Went with friends for a BBQ catch up on the weekend. It was very suitable for our group of 15 or so. Easy to access, a built in BBQ with tables and chairs as well as a well cared for grassed area for sitting on as well. Parking was level and close by, easy walking distance and reasonably level to walk on for young and old. The footpaths are wide and well maintained so no uneven bumps or surprises. As the evening progressed the views changed and the channel and passing ships lights were pretty to look at over the water. The only downside is that during cyclone season (summer) there's no shade sails, meaning the playground is scorching, and the toilets are the automated type so you have to wait for them to open and shut which is not helpful when you have a toddler who can't hold it and you can't get the automated doors to close. Also, all of the steps down to the beach have been demolished and a sea wall built meaning you can't easily access the beach unless you're at the playground, and the turtles don't have anywhere to lay their eggs since the...
Read moreWe came here to try to see some sea animals, sadly no luck but the views were great and make sure you keep walking the main paths so you can do the main coastal walk of Port Headland. It’s lovely and a very flat easy walk.
