This is a stunning lookout, and we went here every morning so we could go down the stairs and do the lovely coastal walks. It is really cool to walk around on low tide also so you can see the lovely sea critters and coral. The landscape in and around Port Hedland is uniformly flat. The Koombana Lookout is possibly the highest elevation in the town. Nice views out over the ocean (to the north) where the Iron Ore ships await loading at the port. Views over the racecourse to the South. Some covered seating but no other facilities at this location.

Some may ask… “WHERE ARE THE TURTLES” they are right here!! At the look out around mid day we saw 10+ in only about ten minutes of hanging out. Nice park that had plenty of parking. Great spot to look out at the ships coming and going. They have a binocular to check them out that is free.
