We were driving from Adelaide to Port Augusta and decided to stop at Port Pirie for a break — and we’re so glad we did. We headed straight to Solomontown Beachfront, and it turned out to be the perfect place to stretch our legs and enjoy some calm by the water.

The area is beautifully maintained, with wide open spaces, grassy picnic spots, a small sandy beach, and a jetty that stretches into the gulf. It’s not overly crowded, which made it even more relaxing. There were a few families around, kids playing, and locals enjoying the fresh air. It felt very safe, peaceful, and ideal for a road trip stopover.

We enjoyed a short walk along the jetty and sat down under one of the shaded areas to have snacks. The views were lovely and the breeze coming off the water was so refreshing after hours on the road. There are also clean toilets, a small playground, and BBQ facilities available — all well looked after.

Whether you’re passing through or staying nearby, Solomontown Beachfront is a great spot to unwind. It’s quiet, scenic, and easy to access, and we’ll definitely stop by again on our next...

A charming spot for a laid-back beach day. The beach features clean, golden sand and gentle waves, making it a suitable place for swimming and relaxing. While it doesn’t offer extensive amenities, there are a few picnic spots where you can enjoy a meal. The surrounding area is pleasant and provides a nice backdrop for a day at the beach. It’s worth noting that the beach can get somewhat busy, particularly on weekends and during holiday periods. Overall, Solomontown Beach is a decent option for those looking to spend some time by the water in a relatively calm...

Lovely little swimming spot from the end of the jetty. When we were there there was a dolphin swimming around with some people just before we arrived, sadly it swam away from the swimmers as we arrived and we didn’t get to swim with it. As the tide changes the water rushes under the jetty, so be careful/make sure you’re a strong swimmer! At slack tide it is beautiful, calm, refreshing and warm. Also, the very salty water makes it...

Ok I'm now in Port pirie south australia, the beach is not a surf beach it's a safe place for the families, there's skate park a bump park for all to enjoy. There's also a new stage with wheeel chair access to the walf. Kids play grounds, just a stunning ning place . Big news we my partner will be putting a food train, yes food train spuds loaded, so if your in the reagin come enjoy Solomontown beach precinct.

I came up to Port Pirie for work and went for a walk along the Solomontown beachfront after finishing up. It really caught me by surprise — peaceful and beautiful. If you head there around 5pm, you can enjoy the sunset until about 6:30pm, often with the whole pier to yourself. A hidden gem worth visiting!
