A Chilly Disappointment - 1/5 Stars

We visited Indian Food Depot with high expectations, given its 4.9-star rating. Unfortunately, our experience was a letdown from start to finish.

The temperature inside the restaurant was shockingly cold - less than 13 degrees! We mentioned this to the staff, and they agreed, yet did nothing to adjust the thermostat. It was actually colder inside than outside!

The food was another story altogether. Our table of four ordered various dishes, but none of them impressed us. The meat was overcooked and tough, making it hard to chew. My duck was almost burnt to a crisp. It was like they forgot the meaning of "medium-rare".

Given the subpar food and uncomfortable dining environment, we left feeling disappointed and frustrated. Our experience was a far cry from the glowing reviews we'd read. Perhaps it was an off day, but we won't be returning to find out.

I can only give an amazing account of the food eaten by the group I was with. Everything was cooked to perfection. Goat, chicken, vegan, seafood dishes were all inhaled literally and metaphorically. The heat of the meals is perfect. And allergies were attended to and catered for. Toilet facilities, whilst small and clearly also staff toilets were clean. Some storage of dry goods is also in the entrance area but think they are for sale. Service friendly and orders taken correctly. Do not recommend the lemon, lime bitters drink. But do recommend a revisit and more great food. Especially when it was open on a public holiday!! On street parking was easy but don't know what it is like during a regular week day I weekend. No step, that I recall, for wheelchair entry to shop but toilets will not accommodate. Great restaurant. Will return...

Absolutely amazing! One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve tried! Butter chicken, lamb korma DELICIOUS! Beef vindaloo (medium heat as per request) chicken fried rice, cheesy garlic naan all amazing & complimentary papadums! About a 30 minute wait for food, not too bad. Staff very friendly.

Will definitely be going back! Wanting to try the desserts next time as well. After googling what each Indian dessert actually is (never had any Indian desserts before) they all sound amazing.
