We were looking forward to this trip but it turned out to be a dangerous disappointment. We are young, sporty and reasonably adventurous, but this was too much. We had to be rescued. We wanted to cancel the trip due to bad weather forecast (floods, wind and storms) but we were told that no refund is possible and that they advice us to come, since the weather will be ok and we‘ll have fun. After 1 hour in the water the weather conditions were so severe we had to seek shelter and called the company to ask wether it is safe to continue. We were more or less told to get our s*** together and be adventurous by vivien (boss of company). So we did continue and the way back to the meeting point was nearly impossible and dangerous. Waves, heavy rain, no visibility and very physically demanding. We were very happy to see the guide coming for our rescue when we didn’t show up in time. She seems to be the only reasonable person in this company who confirmed the conditions were too extreme. We think a refund after all this would only be fair, however no one ever picked up the phone to offer any explanation. We were avoided. We are ok with having no views, but to be put in danger is not ok. The people who lead this company shouldn’t be allowed to. Book with someone else.

We booked the 3 Day Truly Sustainable Noosa Everglades Self Guided Kayak Tour with Kanu Kapers. The weather wasn't looking good for the weekend but we decided to go anyway. Vivienne met us at the starting point and well and truely got us set for our trip. She was super friendly and very experienced, offering great knowledge. We set off feeling very safe and excited for our trip. Once we arrived at campsite 3, where we had prebooked for the two nights (we had the place to ourselves, well beside a few Brush Turkeys and a Goanna), we found the camping gear provided to be great, the tent was huge and we could even stand up in it! We then went up to the Cooloola Sandpatch which was amazing. The next day we kayaked out to campsite 15 and back and then the following day we set off early to try and avoid the highest of the winds to get back to the drop off point. Vivienne was waiting for us with a warm welcome. We ended up with very minimal rain (only while we were sleeping) but quite high winds. Luckily we have had a bit of experience kayaking so it was manageable for us and we loved it! We would highly recommend doing this experience with Kanu Kapers. The self guided tour is great and you are well eqipped for your adventure into the Noosa Everglades.

We loved our one day self guided tour to Noosa Everglades. We arrived at the launch site and was met by Leisel, who had our kayaks, eskies (we had our own ice bricks) and dry bags ready. After giving us clear instructions, and a very handy map, Leisel sent us off to explore Lake Cootharaba and the Upper Noosa River. The paddle across the lake was worth it - the serenity and beauty of the Everglades is something to be experienced. We stoppped at Fig Tree Point for our morning tea and first swim, would have been happy to stay here for the day but we knew we had more to see! We ventured up almost to Harry's Hut, pulling into a nice spot for our picnic lunch (self catered) another lovely swim. Before we knew it, it was time to start paddling back. Save a little bit of energy for the paddle back across the lake, but fear not if a bit choppy... it's that shallow you could probably walk back!! A great day out, good value for money. We are planning an overnight tour next!

DID NOT GET OUR MONEY’S WORTH. We booked the 1 Day Guided Kayak Tour, which was expensive. Paid for a full-day tour but ended up doing half a tour which was self-guided, with no compensation offered.

Updated review: I posted an honest review and got a dishonest response, bunch of excuses & no accountability taken by company. Poor customer service!

We got sent the directions to the tour by email, when we clicked on the address it directed us to a different location in google maps, 10 mins away (there were multiple streets with that name, & no suburb which confused maps). Due to the miscommunication & vague instructions, we ended up being almost an hour late (the location we were given said it was 10 mins away, but in reality it was over an hour, we left 15 mins prior to tour start, unlike their review reply falsely states).

We called on the way to inform the tour, and they said we would miss tea (which we paid for) but would make it in time to leave for the kayak tour, and we would be prioritised to leave as soon as we got there. This was not the case, when we arrived the German instructor was cold and left us waiting for an hour purposely, although our tour had just left and we would have been able to catch up. His reasoning was because “we were late” – although it was the company’s fault. Because of this, we ended up missing 2 hours of a 4-hour tour, we were given a map and told to do a self-guided tour, although we paid for a guided tour. Also, because we were late we were given the last kayak that did not fit and was very tight & uncomfortable.

We were stressed the whole trip. One of the instructors came to find us halfway as we were lost, he was lovely & tried to rectify the mistakes of the other instructor, but it was too late at that point our tour was ruined.

We called the company after to get a partial refund, or at least pay for a self-guided tour, but they insinuated this was our fault, got ignored and we never got compensated. Very...

We are just back from our overnight camping/kayaking expedition into the Noosa Everglades with Kanu Kapers. The whole experience was one of our favourite of all the national parks we have explored in Australia, probably because the experience was so unique ; sleeping under the stars, swimming in the tea tree rivers and spending two fulls kayaking throughout the amazing and still nature. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to manage the kayaking but the equipment was really great and we managed to cover over 50km over the two days, stress free! It was super relaxed. The Kanu Kapers team were awesome ; first with the booking process and then throughout. Thankyou so much to Chris, our guide, for the laughs, your great life stories and knowledge of the beautiful ecosystem and it's animals. Because of you we were able to explore parts of the everglades we wouldn't have known existed ; the beautiful mangroves surrounded by lilypads was my favourite. You were fantastic and really made our trip. Thankyou to our bus driver who kept us informed of Kanu Kapers Eco footprint and the efforts they take to protect the wildlife of the Everglades. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique wilderness experience and just wants to get out there and explore something different! If you're tight on time, I'm sure the one day guided experience would be just as great. Thanks...

Did this with my partner. Aside from the significance of the everglades (which is obviously beautiful) there was nothing enjoyable about it. It is excruciating and they do not inform you of the distance until you arrive at the launch. Then it’s too bad so sad. Not a problem if you want to spend a week recovering... We are both fit and avid gym goers, but the effort just isn’t justified for the amount of time you actually get to spend in the everglades. You are just entirely focused on getting back to the launch area on time. Personally can’t recommend it, as apart from the very brief time spent in the everglades, overall it significantly detracted from our holiday.

*updated to 1 star (originally 2) due to the business trying to discredit honest reviews instead of accepting feedback. Trying to use the typical deceptive response of ‘we can’t find when you attended’ or ‘maybe you attended another company’. They have done this with other reviews also. Very much inline with the way they operate (and non disclosure of the tour distance (18km). Please consider other reviews before booking with this company. If you do proceed, be prepared for a tough slog... They even get you to help the unfortunate solo staff member appointed to your “tour” with clean up and pack up of equipment! Still unsure what...
