The only access to the The Balconies is via the Wedding Cake Rock Trail - also know as the Royal Coast Track. It’s about a 2km walk from Bundeena. The walk takes between 20 minutes to complete each way. The walk is relatively easy. Local authorities have given the walk a ‘grade three’ rating. Make sure you’ve got plenty of water and food - there’s no shop or cafes at this location. There is a toilet at the start of the track, not far from the road where you park your car. I saw lots of people inappropriately dressed for the walk. I strongly recommend wearing pants, exercise shoes and light clothing (particularly in summer). We saw people abandon two baby strollers about 400 metres into the walk - the walk to The Balconies is not made for baby strollers.
