A Hidden Gem of Natural Beauty – Royal National Park & Bundeena If you’re looking for an unforgettable escape into nature, Royal National Park and Bundeena are absolute must-visit destinations. Nestled along Sydney’s stunning coastline, this area offers a perfect blend of breathtaking scenery, outdoor adventure, and a charming seaside village atmosphere. Royal National Park – A Nature Lover’s Paradise As the second oldest national park in the world, Royal National Park is a treasure trove of natural wonders. The moment you enter, you’re surrounded by lush bushland, towering cliffs, and pristine beaches. The park offers: • Scenic coastal walks – The Coast Track from Bundeena to Otford is truly one of the most spectacular hikes in Australia. Think dramatic sea cliffs, hidden beaches, and panoramic ocean views that leave you speechless. • Incredible wildlife – Expect to see lyrebirds, echidnas, and even migrating whales (if you’re lucky and visiting in the right season). • Iconic rock formations – The Figure Eight Pools and the Wedding Cake Rock are some of the park’s most famous natural landmarks, drawing visitors from all over the world. • Crystal-clear beaches – Wattamolla, Garie Beach, and Marley Beach are just some of the stunning spots where you can relax, swim, or have a picnic. Bundeena – A Coastal Escape with Heart At the gateway to Royal National Park, Bundeena is a charming seaside village that feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney. With its relaxed vibe, friendly locals, and stunning waterfront views, it’s the perfect place to unwind. • Bundeena Beach & Jibbon Beach – Both beaches are spectacular, offering calm waters ideal for swimming, kayaking, or just soaking up the sun. • Indigenous Rock Art – A short walk from Jibbon Beach leads to thousands-of-years-old Aboriginal rock engravings, offering a profound connection to the area’s deep cultural history. • Thriving arts scene – Bundeena is home to a vibrant community of artists. The Bundeena Art Trail (held monthly) is a fantastic way to explore local galleries and meet the talented creatives who call this paradise home. • Great local cafés and markets – Whether you’re after a delicious brunch with an ocean view or browsing the Bundeena Markets for unique local crafts, the town has plenty to offer. A Perfect Day Out or Weekend Getaway Easily accessible by a short ferry ride from Cronulla or a scenic drive through the national park, Bundeena and the Royal National Park make for an incredible day trip or a peaceful weekend retreat. Whether you’re an adventure seeker, a nature lover, or simply someone who enjoys breathtaking coastal beauty, this place will exceed your expectations. It’s one of those places that stays in your heart long after you leave – a true gem on Sydney’s doorstep! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely worth visiting!

Best place to start walking and end it. Creature comfort is the main reason. Toilets at the starting point of walk. Shops only a couple of streets away for coffee, snacks and lunch. There is no parking fee. Unlike any other parking spot inside Royal National Park where parking will cost $12 if you don't have annual pass. Buying annual pass when renewing car rego is the way to go. Motivation to do more walks. Walk ways have proper platforms installed for most of the way to Wedding Cake Rock which most people go to. Marlee Beach is not far. Sign posted very well. Download offline Google maps at home. Bring enough drinking water and choose appropriate weather. You will be absolutely enjoying the walk.

This walking track leads to the beach. Bring at the top end of the coastal track, it goes towards Wattamolla Beach. Which meant that the time we went we could see more of the migration whales. Some of the whales entertained us with their majestic breach. Such a beautiful sight to see and a perfect place for whale watching.
