Really cute little farm. There's a wide range of animals to see including chickens, turkeys, cows, pigs, rabbits and mice, as well as sheep and goats you can feed and pet. There's also kangaroos and wallabies but both times we have visites they were quite hard to see and were hiding.

There's a little tractor ride as well which my little one loved, as well as opportunities to pet the rabbits and ferret.

There are a couple of fun shows, such as a whip demonstration and a dog herding show. Unfortunately with the latter, the first time we visited there were alot of technical difficulties with their audio PA system so it was a little awkward to watch, and we didn't catch it again on our second visit.

Also, surprisingly, their little canteen/cafeteria is suprisingly affordable (decent portions all under $15), and while only serves pretty straightforward sandwiches and burgers, their chips are really amazing, funnily enough. We ordered some on both visits, and would definitely order again.

While you can probably get through everything in 2-3hrs, I still would recommend for families. Both visits also havent been crazy crowded but had a good amount of people, so its bustling without being hectic, and the staff are super friendly.

We will definitely be visiting...

As much as Calmsley Hill City Farm is a sweet and safe facility with some nice free-play areas for kids, our experience was very disappointing. We travelled over an hour to visit for my son’s fourth birthday (not a party, just a special outing with me) and the main highlight we had promised him — the tractor ride — was sold out.

Nowhere on the website does it say that tractor rides sell out or that they cannot be booked in advance. This makes it very hard for families who plan ahead. When we asked staff at the front desk and the tractor operator for help, they were unfortunately unhelpful and unfriendly. Although it was a weekday during school holidays, the farm was not overflowing with people, so it was disheartening that nothing could be done for a little boy sobbing on his birthday.

I would strongly suggest the farm make it clear on the website that tractor rides are limited and can sell out, and consider a focus on kindness and customer care in staff training. Parents often choose Calmsley Hill City Farm for special occasions — and a little compassion goes a long way.

Sadly, we left packing up the car with a crying four-year-old instead of the happy memory we...

I have been here a couple of times as I am a support worker and I take my clients here. Never had any issues until the 18th of Feb. A woman was working there in the morning and I asked to get a ticket using student/concession discount which I have done 3 times before with no issues. She said I need a card that has an expiry date on it which I thought was odd because I have never been asked this before. Additionally, I asked her how I would be able to get a card with an expiry date and she said I would have to ask my uni. She ended up letting me pay with the concession discount. I called up my uni when I got home and they basically laughed at her and said student ID's don't come with expiry dates because everyone graduates at different times and if they came with expiry dates, we would have to pay for a new one every time and we pay enough to go to uni already. I even asked my mates from other uni's about this and they said it doesn't exist. Even my client (who is 11 years old) said the lady working at the desk seemed rude. Other than that, I have had pleasant...

A great place to take the kids to see what farm life is about. Plenty of parking, though it fills pretty quickly. A handy hint is book online as their after often promotional codes where you can get a discount on the entry fee. Handy for families. The tractor rides are good and though only goes about 5-10 minutes is great to see the larger area of the farm. The food is nice, though it gets busy at lunch time. Though the staff are efficient at getting the food prepared. If you can bring some snacks or some light food to keep the kids happy. Or you could bring a cooler bag of food, though you would have to carry that around with you. As I never saw any storage areas available for bag's. The toileta are clean and readily accessible. Everything is ground level so good for people with mobility issue's. The only exception being the tractor ride. Demonstrations occur on a regular basis of sheep dogs, sheep shearing, milking the cow, where people can have a turn at milking the cow. Animal feed csnbr purchased at the entrance of the site, or in the gift shop.

It is a beautiful place to take your kids to learn & also able to pet & even hold the animals. There was lots to do but it was such a small place. The parking was ridiculous, it was park wherever you can fit. The feeds for the animals could have been available in more than one location. This is much prefer activity during school days as it'll probably be much more quite & not so full. We visited on a Sunday long weekend. Last time we were here was in 2016 & so much has changed, I assume they'll continue to upgrade as it grows. A memorable moment we were fortunate to catch was a goat giving birth to 2 cubs. One sad part as we stood back & watched how people interacted with some of the animals, & then watch how they would interact with one another. How humanity has declined in showing kindness & care is sad. We'll be visiting again on a school day & give another feedback.
